Recently, 226 smart courses at Shenyang Institute of Technology have been developed and launched, marking phased achievements in the institute's digital and intelligent teaching reform. Supported by the powerful computing infrastructure provided by three institute-level AI computing centers, the institute continues to advance the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology with classroom teaching, driving digital and intelligent teaching from "course digitalization" toward "teaching intelligentization."

Backed by solid computing support, the 226 smart courses launched this time cover multiple disciplines and majors at the institute. The courses integrate digital teaching resources, build intelligent learning pathways, and incorporate a data-driven teaching evaluation system, bringing pre-class preparation, in-class interaction, and post-class feedback into a unified platform to achieve full-process teaching optimization. They have become an important vehicle for the institute's efforts to deepen classroom teaching reform.

Since the courses went online, faculty and students have responded positively. The interaction data continuously generated during teaching is now forming the content and data foundation for the institute to pursue deeper-level intelligent teaching applications.

The courses are powered by the institute's three AI computing centers. These three centers now operate in stable coordination, adopting a localized deployment model and running large models with hundreds of billions of parameters such as DeepSeek. All teaching data circulates within a closed loop on the campus network, firmly safeguarding the data privacy and security of faculty and students. Computing resources are flexibly scheduled across multiple scenarios—teaching, research, and administration—to respond quickly to various intelligent business needs across the institute, providing secure, controllable, and elastically sufficient underlying technical support for the development and operation of the smart courses.

Building on the development of the smart courses, the institute will continue to unlock the value of computing power and data, with a focus on advancing the development of discipline-specific teaching agents. The goal is to create dedicated "AI mentors" and "AI teaching assistants" for each major, supporting professional knowledge Q&A, learning path planning, and assisted training in practical skills, thereby achieving an iterative upgrade from general-purpose AI tools to specialized teaching agents. Throughout this process, faculty will continuously feed in professional teaching resources and representative Q&A pairs to train agents that better understand the discipline and the students, driving continuous optimization and iteration of these agents in real teaching scenarios. At the same time, the institute is advancing the construction of virtual simulation experiment projects across its industry colleges, carrying out high-precision simulation modeling benchmarked against real industrial environments to address the challenges of high-risk, high-cost, and high-consumption experimental teaching and to enhance the quality of practice-based education.

The institute will also advance the construction of a data middle platform in tandem, consolidating and organizing the teaching data accumulated from the 226 smart courses and refining teaching competency tags. This data will provide knowledge support for discipline-specific teaching agents and supply model parameters for virtual simulation experiments, creating coordinated support between computing power and data and ensuring that all intelligent teaching initiatives are evidence-based and data-driven.

From the launch of courses to the development of discipline-specific teaching agents, virtual simulation experiments, and the data middle platform, the digital and intelligent teaching reform at Shenyang Institute of Technology is steadily deepening and becoming more substantive. The institute will continue to unleash the effectiveness of its computing infrastructure, expand application scenarios for AI-empowered education and teaching, help make new progress in building an "Agent University," and inject new momentum into the institute's high-quality development.
