President's Address: Inspiring Students to Pursue Excellence
At the opening ceremony, President Li Kangju delivered an inspiring speech, extending a warm welcome to the incoming students on behalf of the entire university community.
He noted that SITU had established an intelligent learning platform and developed 30 modern industrial colleges to support students' academic and professional growth. These industrial colleges are built in partnership with leading enterprises in China and abroad and are deeply integrated with real-world industrial settings, giving SITU a distinctive position among Chinese universities.
The university also operates a computing center with a capacity of 126 petaflops (PFlops). In addition to its powerful computing capabilities, the center supports the local deployment of large language models. Furthermore, SITU is the first university in China to operate Huawei's all-optical Ethernet network.
President Li emphasized that SITU provides students with authentic industrial environments and a fertile, silicon-based ecosystem for innovation and development. He encouraged students to make full use of the university's resources, treating the campus as fertile ground for developing their skills and the industrial colleges as platforms for personal growth and professional advancement.
He then offered three key recommendations to the incoming students.
First, develop a clear career plan. The university provides career planning guidance and offers students a wider range of development pathways and opportunities. Students were encouraged to explore their interests, identify their goals, and plan proactively for their future careers.
Second, pursue knowledge, think critically, and embrace new approaches to learning. President Li urged students to abandon complacency, cherish their valuable university years, and actively engage with SITU's intelligent education platform, libraries, and laboratories. He encouraged them to embrace emerging technologies and new developments, cultivate independent thinking, and build solid professional competencies to prepare for future challenges.
Third, embrace a strong sense of national responsibility, aspire to make a meaningful contribution, and align personal ambitions with the needs of the times. He encouraged students to connect their academic plans and life goals with national development and the revitalization of Northeast China. By translating their youthful aspirations into concrete actions and contributing to society, students can realize their personal value while serving the greater good.

The ceremony concluded with the entire audience singing Ode to the Motherland. The resounding voices expressed heartfelt blessings for the motherland and profound patriotic affection.
The cameras captured countless smiling faces, while new stories began to unfold. The path of youth lies open before the students, and the call of dreams has sounded. May the Class of 2026 at SITU remain true to their youthful aspirations, move forward with courage and determination, and pursue innovation with an open and pioneering mindset. May they make hard work the defining color of their youth and integrate their personal ideals into the broader currents of our times.
