From standing at attention and dressing ranks to throwing punches and executing turns, the new students of the Class of 2026, clad in camouflage uniforms, form a striking and spirited sight across the Shenyang Institute of Technology campus.
On September 11, Shenyang Institute of Technology held a mobilization meeting for the 2026 cohort’s military training at the university’s comprehensive training ground. Vice President Shi Wei attended the meeting and delivered remarks, while Vice President Zhou Yongchang presented the regimental flag to the military training instructors. The stirring national anthem echoed across the athletic field as the five-star red flag rose slowly in the breeze. Faculty members and students stood solemnly, their eyes fixed on the national flag. The mobilization meeting officially commenced with this solemn flag-raising ceremony.
Shi Wei emphasized that military training is a compulsory part of university education, essential to national talent development and an important measure in strengthening the national defense reserve forces. He encouraged students to emerge from the training more mature and resilient, leaving behind youthful inexperience and developing strength of character, and to carry the discipline and spirit of the military into their university life.He also urged students to uphold the university motto, study diligently, and remain grounded in practice.
