While students were enjoying their wonderful vacation, the campus of Shenyang Institute of Technology was a hive of busy construction work. During this summer vacation, a number of campus construction projects were pushed forward at full speed. Teaching buildings have been renovated and upgraded, brand‑new dormitory buildings have been completed, and the Veterinary Medicine Industrial College has been established. A series of brand‑new campus spaces are about to greet everyone, unlocking a brand‑new experience of study and daily life for SIT students.
The summer campus‑upgrade project includes the renovation of teaching buildings for the School of Economics and Management, the School of Life Engineering and the School of International Education, the construction of two new dormitory buildings, and the building of the Veterinary Medicine Industrial College (Imaging Center). Covering classroom learning, daily life and industry‑education integrated talent training, the project has comprehensively improved the campus hardware for school‑running purposes. It puts the “student‑centered” philosophy into effect in every corner of the campus.
The two highly‑anticipated new dormitories consist of a 15‑storey building and a 5‑storey building. The 15‑storey dormitory is equipped with elevators. It has 320 four‑person bedrooms, each fitted with an en‑suite bathroom. The 5‑storey dormitory contains six‑person bedrooms. Built according to high‑quality apartment standards, the new dormitories greatly improve living comfort. Equipped with intelligent facilities and central air‑conditioning, they keep indoor temperatures constant throughout the year, free from extreme summer heat and winter cold. Modern bathrooms and washrooms will be cleaned and disinfected every day to maintain good hygiene. Separate well‑ventilated drying rooms perfectly solve the problem of drying clothes on rainy days.
All‑in‑one life‑support facilities are provided on each floor. Washing machines, clothes dryers, hair dryers and hot‑water dispensers are available on every floor. Students can wash and dry laundry, get hot water and tidy up their appearance without leaving their floor. The comfortable and convenient living environment allows students to live pleasantly and study with peace of mind.
The upgraded teaching buildings focus on smart teaching and are well adapted to modern teaching modes. Computing power has been fully upgraded to further strengthen the in‑depth support of artificial intelligence in all educational scenarios. Every classroom is equipped with electronic blackboards and movable desks and chairs. Teachers can deliver immersive lessons, and students can conveniently carry out group discussions and project‑oriented practice. Technology empowers teaching and makes learning more efficient.
Meanwhile, the Veterinary Medicine Industrial College (Imaging Center) has been completed. This five‑storey building boasts a construction area of 6,000 square meters. It comprises the SIT Animal Imaging Center and the AI‑powered Industrial Practice Center. The Animal Imaging Center will serve as a core practical base for students majoring in veterinary medicine, enabling seamless connections between classroom theories and front‑line clinical practice. The AI‑powered Industrial Practice Center mainly trains students’ skills in intelligent breeding and digital epidemic prevention and control. Based on these two sections, the college plans to carry out technical training for relevant industries in the future and deliver high‑quality talents for the high‑quality development of regional animal‑medical and animal‑husbandry industries.
From smart classrooms and cosy accommodation to the industry‑oriented industrial college, every construction project centres on students’ learning demands, living experience and growth. The university keeps improving school‑running conditions and the quality of talent cultivation.
