On June 6, coinciding with the grand opening of the 2026 Liaoning International Sister Cities Conference, Shenyang Institute of Technology hosted a meeting on international exchange and cooperation with a Mongolian delegation at the KUKA Authorized Industrial Robotics College conference room. The Mongolian delegation, composed of representatives from five provinces—Central Gobi, Sukhbaatar, Khentii, Dornogovi, and South Gobi—visited our college to sign cooperation agreements, deepen mutual trust in education, and jointly explore new pathways for development. Attending the event were Deputy Governor Gangbatu of Dornogovi Province, Menghebatu, Director of the Commerce Department of Sukhbaatar Province, and other provincial representatives; officials from the Policy and Regulations Division of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and the Open Cooperation Bureau of the Shenyang-Fushun Development Zone; Xu Ye, Executive Secretary-General of the Provincial Vocational Training Association; Shan Shaopeng, General Manager of Overseas Department at Ansteel Group; Zhang Xize, Chairman of the China-Mongolia Industrial Park; and Li Kangju, President of Shenyang Institute of Technology. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Xu Ying.

President Li Kangju extended a warm welcome to the Mongolian delegation on behalf of the entire college community. He provided a detailed overview of the college’s distinctive educational features and achievements in internationalization. Emphasizing deep integration between industry and education, our college has established 28 modern industrial colleges in collaboration with leading domestic and international enterprises, effectively bridging the gap between talent development and industrial demands. Focusing on digital transformation in education, our college has built a 126P computing center and locally deployed general-purpose large models such as DeepSeek, leveraging digital technologies to co-develop intelligent teaching agents with partner companies. In terms of internationalization, our college has established close partnerships with 62 institutions across 19 countries. Its Russian-language and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) specialized training program has achieved remarkable success, with graduates becoming key technical service personnel for China's CNC machine exports to Russian-speaking countries, while also continuously supplying composite technical talents to ASEAN manufacturing sectors. He expressed hope that future collaborations with Mongolian government agencies, enterprises, and universities would help build a high-quality platform for educational connectivity, joint talent cultivation, and coordinated development between China and Mongolia, contributing Shenyang Institute of Technology’s wisdom and strength to strengthen bilateral traditional friendship and deepen friendly cooperation.

Menghebatu stated in his speech that after on-site research and visits, the delegation fully recognized our college’s academic strength, program structure, and practical education model. This cooperation establishes a stable, standardized, and sustainable platform for outstanding young Mongolian students to study in China. Following the agreement’s implementation, over the next five years, the Mongolian side will strictly manage the full chain process—including student selection, qualification review, immigration procedures, and post-return degree certification—and refine daily coordination and management of Chinese international students to ensure smooth execution of the joint training program. He expressed hope that through this initiative, more young people from Mongolia would come to China, study at Shenyang Institute of Technology, acquire professional knowledge, enhance practical skills, experience Chinese culture, and grow into new-generation talents with both expertise and global vision—becoming ambassadors of Sino-Mongolian friendship.

During the discussion session, both sides exchanged in-depth views on core topics including international student recruitment, joint program development, faculty exchanges, cross-border vocational training, and implementation of industry-education projects, reaching multiple consensus on key details such as project duration, scale of talent deployment, and internship arrangements for students.

At the special authorization ceremony for Sino-Mongolian educational exchange and cooperation, Xu Ye, Executive Secretary-General of the Liaoning Provincial Vocational Training Association, and Xu Ying, Vice President of Shenyang Institute of Technology, were officially appointed as lead coordinators for ongoing Sino-Mongolian educational collaboration, tasked with promoting regular communication, project implementation, and long-term cooperation between the two regions and institutions.

At the signing ceremony, President Li Kangju and Menghebatu jointly signed the Strategic Framework Agreement on Joint Talent Cultivation in Higher Education between China and Mongolia. Under the agreement, over the next five years, Mongolia will select outstanding young students to pursue degree programs at our college. Leveraging its high-quality faculty and practical teaching resources, the university will provide systematic talent development, supporting the growth of local industries in Mongolia upon graduation.

This event marks a landmark achievement in advancing open cooperation between Liaoning and Shenyang regions and Mongolia. In the future, all parties will leverage resources from the China-Mongolia Industrial Park and foreign-involvement manufacturing enterprises to extend the cooperation chain and further explore collaborative potential in areas such as vocational training, industry-academia-research transformation, and cross-border employment services. This collaboration, anchored by education, establishes a talent exchange channel between China and Mongolia, not only enhancing the quality and internationalization of our college's education but also injecting new momentum into Liaoning’s deeper integration into bilateral economic, trade, and cultural exchanges with Mongolia, broadening its openness.

Prior to the meeting, participants toured several institutes at our college, including the Southern Surveying & Mapping Beidou Spatiotemporal Information Industry College, Embodied Intelligence Industry College, Aiant Smart Manufacturing Modern Industry College, KUKA Welding Modern Industry College, Five-Axis Industrial Mother Machine Industry College, SIT-Huawei Modern Industry College, Early Childhood Education Practice Teaching Center, SIT-Midea Digital Lighthouse College, and the KUKA Robotics Practice Teaching Center.
