On June 9th, the founding ceremony and first member representative conference of the Red Cross Society of Shenyang Institute of Technology were held in the 205 Lecture Hall of the campus library. Wu Shuang, Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Vice President of the Fushun Red Cross Society, and Li Yang, member of the Party Group and Vice President, attended the founding ceremony. Our school's Party Secretary Hu Xiaomei attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President Zhou Yongchang attended the meeting.

In her speech, Hu Xiaomei reviewed the achievements of our school's teachers and students in practicing the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, universal love, and dedication". She expressed that the Red Cross is not only a spirit, but also a banner. She hoped that the school's Red Cross Society would deeply understand and accurately grasp the spiritual essence and practical requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on the development of the Red Cross industry, keep in mind its original mission, bravely shoulder the heavy responsibilities of the times, benchmark the "Five Haves" requirements for the construction of grassroots organizations of the Red Cross Society, widely carry out activities such as emergency rescue, volunteer service, and dissemination of humanitarian concepts, and focus on guiding its members and volunteers to have a humanitarian heart, expand their international vision, and inject the youthful energy of the Red Cross into the great cause of building a strong country.

At the founding ceremony, Li Yang read out the approval for the establishment of the Red Cross Society of Shenyang Institute of Technology. Guo Hao, a representative of the school's Red Cross volunteers and an outstanding college student who acts bravely for justice, read the "Seven Basic Principles of the International Red Cross Movement".

The attending representatives voted to pass the draft of the Constitution of the Red Cross Society of Shenyang Institute of Technology and elected the first council. The first meeting of the first council of the Red Cross Society of Shenyang Institute of Technology elected a president, vice president, and executive director, and passed a resolution to appoint an honorary president. The conference approved the Development Plan of the Red Cross Society of Shenyang Institute of Technology (2026-2028).

In his speech, newly elected president Zhou Yongchang stated that he will take institutionalization, standardization, and normalization as the guidance, deeply integrate the Red Cross work with students' ideological and political education, actively build a new model of education that integrates "professional education+public welfare practice", strive to create a Red Cross volunteer service brand with Shenyang characteristics, help students grow up healthily, promote the inheritance of the Red Cross cause, and provide comprehensive services for the high-quality development of the school.

The meeting was chaired by Li Dongming, Deputy Minister of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee. More than 100 representatives from relevant departments and colleges, faculty and student members, and Red Cross volunteers participated in the meeting.
