Delegation from Sunchon National University of the Republic of Korea Visits Our University for Exchange and Cooperation

On June 5, a delegation from Sunchon National University (SCNU), Republic of Korea, paid a visit to our university for exchange activities. The two sides held in-depth discussions on international education cooperation, joint talent training and collaborative scientific research innovation, signed a cooperation agreement and held an unveiling ceremony for the Joint Talent Training Base. Building on existing cooperation, the two universities will further deepen collaboration in joint talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research. Jeong Dong-bo, Dean of the Graduate School of Sunchon National University, Seo Kang-seok, Director of the International Affairs Division, and Xu Ying, Vice President of our university, attended the event.

During the forum, Vice President Xu Ying extended a warm welcome to the SCNU delegation and gave a comprehensive introduction to our university’s achievements and practical experience in faculty-student exchanges, joint talent training, scientific research collaboration and industry-education integrated education. She noted that since establishing cooperative ties, the two universities have yielded fruitful results through long-term cooperation in joint student training, personnel exchanges and scientific research. She expressed the hope that this visit would serve as a new starting point to continuously expand cooperation scope, tap deeper cooperation potential, jointly advance internationalized school-running, and cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with global vision and innovative literacy, thereby boosting exchanges and mutual learning between higher education sectors of the two countries.

Seo Kang-seok conveyed sincere gratitude for the warm reception by our university. He stated that against the backdrop of globalization, international cooperation in higher education has become a vital bridge for driving scientific and technological innovation and promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning. He looked forward to the two universities consolidating their cooperative foundation, diversifying joint talent training models and expanding the range of cooperative majors, so as to help faculty and students from both institutions improve their cross-cultural communication capabilities and comprehensive competence.

At the meeting, the two sides conducted thorough exchanges on joint student training, faculty-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation. They reached multiple consensuses and planned to jointly apply for national-level research projects. Relying on our University’s International Graduate School, the two sides will build a joint talent training base, creating a direct pathway for our students to pursue master’s degrees in South Korea. Meanwhile, drawing on our Modern Industry College, long-term and short-term student exchange programs will be regularly carried out to help students from both universities broaden their global horizons and enhance their overall capabilities.

Prior to the forum, the delegation toured the Advanced Manufacturing Center, Huawei-Shengong Modern Industry College, South Surveying & Mapping Beidou Spatio-temporal Information Industry College, Shengong-Midea Digital Lighthouse College, Shengong-Siemens Joint Demonstration Practice Teaching Center for Advanced Automation Technology, Shengong Preschool Education Modern Industry College and KUKA Robotics Practice Teaching Center of our university.

Fu Junfan, Dean of the College of Life Engineering, Tao Lin, Director of the Science and Technology Division, and Zhang Lili, Dean of the School of International Education of our university, participated in the activity.
