On May 14, the launch ceremony for the Intelligent Transformation & Digital Upgrade Diagnosis Program of Liaoning Academy for New Industrialization of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises took place in the lecture hall of the School of International Education at our university. The event was jointly hosted by our university and MCloud Technology Co., Ltd. It marks the official launch of large-scale implementation of diagnosis services for the intelligent and digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Liaoning Province, in a bid to fully implement the national "AI + Manufacturing" strategy and advance the development of a Digital Liaoning and a Manufacturing Powerhouse Province.
Wei Xiaogang, Vice President of MCloud Technology under Midea Group, and Xu Xiaoqiang, North China General Manager for Global Strategic Clients at Jack Technology, attended the ceremony. Also present were Wang Zhaobao, Chairman of our university, and Yang Xiuying, Vice President of the university.
Drawing on Midea Group’s over decade-long experience in digital transformation, Wei Xiaogang delivered a keynote speech. He stated that the core of intelligent and digital transformation lies in ensuring the consistency, transparency and authenticity of data, so that data can truly become corporate assets, production factors and core productivity. During the transformation journey, personnel transformation is the most challenging, critical and fundamental part. Without upgraded cognition, capabilities and mindset, even the most sophisticated tools cannot deliver value. MCloud Technology is ready to leverage the proven expertise, technical platforms and comprehensive service capabilities of a leading enterprise to help Liaoning’s SMEs achieve transformation in a cost-effective, efficient and high-quality manner.
Wang Zhaobao noted that the in-depth cooperation between the university and MCloud Technology serves as a vivid example of integrating industry with education, combining science and education, and forging an integrated university-enterprise partnership. The Lighthouse Academy jointly built by the two sides has broken down disciplinary barriers and enabled seamless collaboration across multiple majors, embodying a new advanced model of undergraduate education. He put forward the philosophy of "let intelligent systems handle teaching, while teachers focus on student cultivation and practical training".
In the AI era, intelligent agents represent new means of production and new productive forces. Therefore, education must proactively embrace changes, restructure its systems and rebuild core competencies. He called on all faculty and students to learn, apply and master AI technologies. He expressed full confidence that with the support of leading enterprises like MCloud Technology, teachers and students will secure high-quality employment, achieve sound personal growth and create greater value. Meanwhile, the university will embrace new leaps, progress and achievements while contributing to the revitalization of Liaoning Province.
Yang Xiuying pointed out that intelligent and digital transformation is an inevitable path for SMEs to improve quality and efficiency. From this day onward, the joint expert team of the university and the enterprise will conduct on-site diagnosis for enterprises. She encouraged teachers and students to translate certificates into practical abilities and knowledge into tangible services, so as to effectively address enterprises’ difficulties and concerns about transformation — namely hesitation, lack of know-how and cost pressure. She urged all participants to turn classroom knowledge into practical skills to solve real-world problems for enterprises, helping Liaoning’s SMEs forge ahead steadily amid the digital revolution.
Previously, MCloud Technology won the bid for the intelligent and digital transformation project targeting industrial-scale textile enterprises in Liaoning. It will provide diagnosis services for 339 high-end textile and fashion brand enterprises across the province. In early May, the university and MCloud Technology jointly organized special training courses, and 134 teachers and students passed the assessment. Certificates were awarded to qualified participants at the ceremony, consolidating the talent pool for follow-up diagnosis services.
In the afternoon of the same day, a series of lectures themed "AI + Industry" were held concurrently. Three experts, Jin Dongqiang, Teng Wei and Chen Shumin, gave presentations respectively on General Cognitive Framework for Intelligence in the AI Era, Driven by Digital & Intelligence: Decoding Midea’s AI Practices in Industry, and Methodologies for Improving Leadership and Communication Skills of Interdisciplinary Talents in the AI Era. The sessions covered cognitive frameworks, practical cases and talent development, delivering rich and practical content. The interactive exchanges were active and fruitful.
The successful holding of the ceremony is a major practice of university-enterprise collaboration to serve local industries. Going forward, relying on Liaoning Academy for New Industrialization of SMEs, our university and MCloud Technology will integrate resources from governments, enterprises and universities. We will continue to carry out on-site enterprise diagnosis, technical lectures and personnel training, help Liaoning’s SMEs overcome transformation hurdles and pursue high-quality development, and inject new momentum into the all-round revitalization of Liaoning in the new era.
