Recently, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Fushun City Federation of Social Sciences successively announced the funding results for 2026 research projects. Faculty members of our university actively submitted applications with fruitful results, achieving a total of 26 approved projects. Both the number of funded projects and the scope of covered fields have steadily increased, demonstrating the continuous enhancement of the university's research strength.
Among the preliminary funding lists announced by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology for the Provincial Natural Science Foundation Program and the Provincial Rural Science and Technology Special Commissioner Action Program, a total of 4 provincial-level science and technology projects from our university were approved. Specifically, Professor Wang Shanshan received funding for a Doctoral Startup Project under the Provincial Natural Science Foundation Program. Professors Zhang Wei and Zhang Yingying each received funding for General Projects under the Provincial Natural Science Foundation Program. Professor Chen Yong received funding for a project under the Rural Science and Technology Special Commissioner Action Program.
At the same time, our university also performed exceptionally well in the application for research topics with the Fushun City Federation of Social Sciences. A total of 22 topics were approved, including 10 planning topics, 1 special ideological and political education topic, and 11 youth topics. This fully reflects our university's solid foundation in the humanities and social sciences, ideological and political education, and the cultivation of young research talent.
The projects approved this time span multiple disciplinary fields, reflecting both the depth of research and a clear orientation toward serving local development. This represents a significant achievement resulting from the university's long-term emphasis on research development and its encouragement of faculty dedication to scholarly inquiry. Taking this approval as a new starting point, the university will further strengthen full-process management and service support for research projects, diligently advance project implementation, and ensure the high-quality and timely completion of research tasks with practical outcomes.
In the next phase, the university will focus on the Shenyang Institute of Technology Modern Industrial College platform, leverage the Liaoning Provincial SME New Industrialization Institute, closely align with industrial needs and regional development, continuously enhance the university's research level and capacity to serve industrial development, steadily elevate the university's research endeavors to a new level, and contribute even more to regional development.
