On April 9, Yue Tao, Deputy Secretary-General of the Rizhao Municipal Government, led a delegation of municipal enterprises and vocational colleges from Rizhao to visit our university for an inspection and exchange. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions and on-site research on topics such as AI general education, digital and intelligent construction, and industry-education integration. Our university's Chairman Wang Zhaobao, Party Committee Secretary Hu Xiaomei, and President Li Kangju warmly received the delegation and participated in the discussions.
At the symposium, Wang Zhaobao warmly welcomed the visit of Yue Tao and his delegation, providing a detailed introduction to the university's achievements in educational transformation and development. He stated that in response to the profound transformation brought by artificial intelligence to traditional education models, the university has focused on employment market demands and established a development path of "building majors according to industry standards and driving reforms through practical teaching." To address practical challenges such as funding, class hours, and faculty acceptance, the university has vigorously promoted the establishment of industry colleges, deeply integrating resources from leading enterprises like Inspur, Midea, KUKA, Southern Surveying and Mapping, and Huawei. As a result, 21 specialized industry colleges have been established, incorporating corporate culture, real production scenarios, and job requirements into the entire teaching process, effectively stimulating students' learning initiative. Leveraging partnerships with leading enterprises, the university has built a high-quality employment ecosystem covering economically vibrant regions such as the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. The graduates, with solid theoretical foundations and outstanding practical skills, are highly recognized by enterprises. Looking ahead, the university will continue to advance the research and application of intelligent agents, support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises through the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's job training program, and seek to share resources with more public institutions to jointly promote the digital and intelligent upgrading of higher education.
Yue Tao highly praised the achievements of our university in integrating industry and education, as well as its digital and intelligent development. He noted that Shenyang University of Technology has achieved notable results through a model where teachers guide students in participating in real corporate projects, promoting deep integration between projects and majors, and simultaneously innovating teaching and research evaluation mechanisms. The establishment of its industrial colleges serves as a national benchmark for applied universities. This visit aims to learn advanced experiences in digital and intelligent development, providing insights for the vocational education advancement in Rizhao City. The exchange lays a solid foundation for further collaboration between the two parties in AI education and industry-education integration.
