To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on promoting the Lei Feng Spirit, and to act on the spirit of the Notice on Launching the Campaign to Learn from Comrade Jincheng Long issued by multiple departments including the Publicity Department of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and the Liaoning Provincial Office of Spiritual Civilization Construction, the University Party Committee recently issued a document conferring the title of "Outstanding University Student for Acts of Righteous Courage" upon Guo Hao, a student from Class 3, Major of Electrical Automation, Grade 2024, School of Information and Control Engineering.
In the late night of February 1 this year, a resident accidentally fell into the icy Majia River in Huaqitun Village, Puyang City, Henan Province, and his life was in grave danger. Passing by, Guo Hao stepped forward bravely without regard for his own safety and successfully rescued the drowning person. With concrete actions, he followed the example of Comrade Jin Chenglong and continued the story of Lei Feng in the new era.
Born in June 2006, Guo Hao was admitted to our university from Henan Province in 2024. Since his enrollment, he has demonstrated a positive, motivated and sunny attitude. He took the initiative to join the Hongzhi Promotion Association, a Lei Feng-learning volunteer team of the school, and integrated the Lei Feng Spirit into his daily life: studying diligently, uniting with classmates, and striving to set an example in academic performance and collective life; doing part-time work to support his studies, returning lost property, and conveying warmth and positive energy through small actions, winning unanimous praise from teachers and classmates.
In its document, the University Party Committee pointed out that all Party members, teachers, students and staff across the university should take Comrade Jin Chenglong and Student Guo Hao as role models. They should learn from their firm convictions and unwavering patriotism, their heroic spirit of acting bravely for justice and stepping forward courageously, their noble sentiments of dedication and serving society, and their down-to-earth style of remaining true to their original aspiration and striving for progress and goodness. We must unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and all plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and act on the guiding principles of the 10th Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee. We should conscientiously practice the core socialist values, firm our ideals and convictions, cultivate noble character, base ourselves on our respective posts and strive hard with unwavering determination. We should dare to strive for excellence in promoting high-quality development of the university and helping secure new breakthroughs in the all-round revitalization of Northeast China in the new era, strive to write a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Liaoning, and make new and greater contributions to building a strong country and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
