Recently, the Department of Education of Liaoning Province and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Liaoning Province jointly issued the Notice on Announcing the List of 2025 Modern Industry Colleges and Key Modern Industry Colleges in Liaoning Province. Among the 20 key modern industry colleges in Liaoning Province, SIT’s Modern Industry College of New-Generation Information Technology has been selected as one of them. This important achievement fully recognizes the university’s long-term commitment to distinctive industry-education integration and its innovative practice model of building a full-module Huawei factory on campus, demonstrating its profound and distinctive talent development effectiveness in the field of industry-education integration.
Co-founded by SIT, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Neusoft Education Technology Group Co., Ltd., the industry college relies on the entity of the Huawei-Shenyang Institute of Technology Modern Industry College. It integrates high-quality educational and industrial resources, focusing on the construction of core majors including Computer Science and Technology (National First-Class Major), Communication Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. Breaking through the limitations of the traditional curriculum system, the college has innovatively established a curriculum cluster featuring “basic generality, core differentiation, and modular combination”, realizing the precise connection between the education chain and the industrial chain, and building an industrial demand-oriented knowledge system for students.
In terms of cooperation mode, the college has abandoned the superficial “demand-response” school-enterprise cooperation and innovatively constructed a new paradigm of industry-education integration featuring “collaborative evolution”. Through a six-dimensional comprehensive empowerment system covering cultural immersion, scenario experience, cognitive upgrading, industry-education docking, management empowerment, and scientific and technological innovation incubation, it has transformed Huawei’s six root technologies — Kunpeng, Ascend, HarmonyOS, big data, 5G, and networking — into systematic and implementable teaching resources.
Up to now, the college has completed the restructuring and upgrading of 97 courses and formed a “dual-teacher” teaching matrix composed of Huawei gold-medal lecturers and university professional teachers, building a fast growth path for students from “industry cognition” to “practical innovation”. Relying on the Xingchen Joint Innovation Lab built on Huawei’s Ascend AI computing platform, the college has successfully deployed the DeepSeek education large model and incubated the “Shen Gong Tong” intelligent learning platform, reshaping the whole process of “teaching” and “learning” with artificial intelligence technology and promoting the innovation of teaching modes.
The industry college not only focuses on talent cultivation but also undertakes the important mission of serving as the “technical foundation” and “innovation engine” for the university’s digital transformation. It has deeply deconstructed the entire business process of enterprises and built a teaching platform framework covering the whole chain of “planning, research and development, production, and operation”. This practice enables students to master practical enterprise capabilities in advance and achieve seamless transition from campus to workplace. Meanwhile, it feeds back into the intelligent upgrading of university management and services, forming a replicable and promotable “Shenyang Institute of Technology Solution” for industry-education integration.
The approval as a key modern industry college in Liaoning Province marks an important milestone in SIT’s practice of industry-education integration and a brand-new starting point for the university to march toward high-quality development. SIT will continue to deepen the path of distinctive industry-education integration, supported by the strengthening of “dual-qualified and dual-competent” teaching staff and centered on accelerating technological innovation and achievement transformation. We will further improve the integrated ecosystem of “campus factory + collaborative education + scientific and technological innovation incubation”, aiming to build a demonstration highland of industry-education integration serving Liaoning and radiating across the country.
