On November 6, coinciding with the 34th National Fire Safety Day, our institute jointly organized hands-on firefighting training and an emergency evacuation drill with the Fushun Economic Development Zone Fire and Rescue Brigade. The event was held under the theme "Every Citizen Participates in Fire Safety, Life Matters Most." Hu Xiaomei, Secretary of the Party Committee of our institute, attended the event and delivered a mobilization speech. Also present were Wang Yifu, Deputy Captain of the Fushun Economic Development Zone Fire and Rescue Brigade; Zhou Yongchang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of our institute; and Shi Wei, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of our institute.

During the hands-on training session, officers from the Fushun Economic Development Zone Fire and Rescue Brigade provided professional explanations of fire emergency rescue equipment. Fire safety officers from the Logistics and Security Department demonstrated the correct usage of fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Participants were organized into groups for orderly hands-on practice, with real-time guidance provided on-site to ensure mastery of core firefighting skills.

The emergency evacuation drill simulated a fire scenario in a student dormitory. In a highly realistic fire simulation, our students successfully completed a realistic evacuation drill. "Attention, students: a fire has broken out in the building. Please evacuate immediately!" announced the dormitory broadcast. All participants strictly followed the evacuation principles of "staying low, covering noses with damp cloths," and quickly evacuated along designated routes under the orderly guidance of staff. Within minutes, all personnel safely reached the designated assembly point, where group leaders promptly conducted headcounts and reported the situation. The entire evacuation process was efficient and orderly, fully demonstrating the strong emergency response capabilities and teamwork of both faculty and students.

Moving forward, our institute will institutionalize regular fire safety awareness campaigns, skill training, and emergency drills. Efforts will continue to strengthen fire safety responsibilities, enhance the self-rescue and mutual-aid capabilities of faculty and students, and fully create a safe and harmonious campus environment.
