Recently, President Li Kangju led a delegation to Russia, where they participated in the 14th University Presidents Forum of China's Northeast Region and Russia's Far East & Siberia. The delegation also conducted exchange visits to Pacific National University, Novosibirsk State Technical University, and Irkutsk National Research Technical University. Important cooperative consensuses were reached, advancing in-depth collaboration between our university and Russian institutions in areas such as talent cultivation and scientific research, thereby opening a new chapter in our cooperation with Russia.
On October 13, our delegation visited Pacific National University in Khabarovsk, where both sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research. Subsequently, the delegation was invited to attend the 14th University Presidents Forum of China's Northeast Region and Russia's Far East & Siberia. At the forum's second sub-forum, President Li Kangju delivered a report titled "Exploration and Practice of Cultivating Application-Oriented Talents in the Era of Digital Intelligence," systematically sharing the university's development strategies, educational achievements, and innovative practices in constructing modern industry colleges, which garnered widespread attention.
During the conference, our university signed a cooperation agreement with Transbaikal State University. President Li Kangju held detailed talks with leaders from both Russian and Chinese universities and had a cordial exchange with the Deputy Consul General of China in Khabarovsk.
During the visit, our delegation also visited Novosibirsk State Technical University. Since establishing their partnership, the two universities have achieved fruitful results through meticulous work in areas such as joint student training, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration. The delegation also met with our students currently studying at Novosibirsk State Technical University. President Li Kangju cordially conversed with the students, inquiring in detail about their studies and living conditions. He encouraged everyone to cherish the learning opportunity in Russia, make full use of the university's educational resources, acquire more knowledge and skills, and lay a solid foundation for their future careers. Afterwards, the two universities held the opening ceremony for the first "Shenyang Institute of Engineering - Novosibirsk State Technical University" Reverse "2+2" Joint Training Program. This program, leveraging our university's Modern Industry College, emphasizes a "Major + Chinese" training characteristic, aiming to cultivate international compound talents who are both proficient in their professional fields and possess cross-cultural communication skills. At the ceremony, the Russian students wore campus T-shirts gifted by our university—a thoughtful arrangement that vividly demonstrated our warm wishes and high regard.
Subsequently, the delegation also visited the national research university, Irkutsk National Research Technical University. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research and signed an inter-university cooperation agreement. After the meeting, the delegation toured the university's laboratories and its jointly built teaching and research center with an energy enterprise.
That same day, our delegation was invited to attend the "Chinese Culture and Art Festival by Lake Baikal," hosted by Irkutsk National Research Technical University. At the event, President Li Kangju delivered an enthusiastic speech and invited more Russian students to study and exchange at our university. Before the event, President Li Kangju held a cordial conversation with the Deputy Consul General of China in Irkutsk.
