On July 12th, Jose Barrios, Chairman of EXSUSA Private Education Group in Panama, Andres Barrios, Vice President of Group Operations, Junmin Su, CEO of subsidiary Maiwei, and Veronica Arce, President of the university, visited our school for inspection and exchange. Both sides had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the private education system and its development, as well as the important role of digital transformation in the education system. At the symposium, Wang Zhaobao warmly welcomed Jose Barrios and his delegation, and provided a detailed introduction to our school's educational situation and characteristics. He emphasized that the core goal of both public and private education is to cultivate talents and provide high-quality education platforms for the country and society. The Huawei - Shenyang Institute of Technology Modern Industrial College, jointly established by our university and Huawei, is an important platform established to allow students to immerse themselves in the real operation mode of enterprises. As the largest communication enterprise in China, Huawei's six fundamental technologies have been introduced into our university, and other industrial colleges are built on Huawei's underlying intelligent agents, laying a solid digital foundation for students in various majors. In addition, our university is making every effort to construct a locally deployed artificial intelligence large model based on the Huawei Ascend platform. In the future, through digital management, our university will establish and enhance a smart education system to improve teachers' instructional capabilities.
Jose Barrios highly recognizes our school's educational philosophy and development achievements. He introduced that EXSUSA Private Education Group in Panama has four universities with 27000 students, covering multiple disciplines such as business, engineering, and medicine. In the past four years, the group has continued to promote technological innovation and has added multiple technical training courses through cooperation with Huawei. He stated that the essence of education is to break down boundaries between regions and resources, allowing high-quality knowledge to reach more students. The exploration of Shenyang Institute of Technology in the field of digital education is impressive, especially the construction model of Huawei - Shenyang Institute of Technology Modern Industrial College, which provides us with valuable reference samples. This visit is a good start for cooperation between the two sides, and we look forward to deepening cooperation in international education and other fields in the future to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
At the meeting, both sides had lively discussions on topics such as the construction of online education platforms. Yao Jian, Director of the Modern Education Technology Service Center at our school, showcased the application achievements of artificial intelligence large models on site. Taking advanced mathematics courses as an example, he demonstrated in detail how to embed knowledge points into large models and build an efficient online learning platform based on large models, providing specific reference directions for cooperation between both parties.
Professor Justin Mendes, a specially appointed expert of our school, Zhang Zhuhua, Dean of the School of Information and Control, Liu Pai, Vice Dean of the School of Continuing Education, and Wu Ningning, Assistant Dean of the School of International Education, accompanied the inspection and participated in the symposium.
