On July 24-25, the Huawei China Government Enterprise User Summit 2025 with the theme of “Listening and Practicing Service Industry Digitization to Create a New Era of AI” was held in Qingdao. This summit brought together Huawei and its customers and partners to fully share and discuss the future trends, problems, challenges, and excellent industry practices of digital transformation in the new era of AI, with the aim of jointly promoting the digitalization process of the industry. SIT president Li Kangju was invited to attend the roundtable conference on the integration of industry and education, and gave a special report on the topic of “Exploration and Cultivation of New Quality Productivity Talents under the Background of the Digital Intelligence Era”, sharing the school’s innovative practices and fruitful achievements in the construction of modern industrial colleges, which has attracted widespread attention.

In the report, Li elaborated on the practical exploration of SIT’s collaboration with Huawei to deepen the integration of industry and education in the era of digital intelligence, with a focus on introducing our university’s “SIT Plan” centered on the construction of a modern industrial college, and discussing with all parties the innovative path of cultivating new talents driven by AI technology. SIT closely follows the needs of the industry, actively responds to the call of the national new engineering construction, and has built a school enterprise collaborative ecosystem with intelligent manufacturing as the core. By integrating the advantages of school and enterprise resources, the university has deeply cooperated with Huawei, Midea, Rockwell Automation, Huazhong Numerical Control, Kuka, Inspur and other domestic and foreign head enterprises, and has built 19 modern industry colleges, including Huawei Shenyang Industrial Modern Industry College, Shenyang Industrial Midea Digital Lighthouse College, Inspur Industrial Internet College Joint Innovation Center, Kuka Authorized Industrial Robot College, etc. At the same time, 24 campus practice teaching centers and 271 laboratories have been built to build a teaching platform covering the whole production process of modern manufacturing. This platform focuses on four key aspects: root technology learning, tool application, production and manufacturing, and operation and maintenance management. It cultivates high-quality application-oriented talents who are familiar with modern manufacturing architecture processes, proficient in cutting-edge production technologies, and skilled in using digital tools, providing solid human resource support for industrial transformation and upgrading.

Li emphasized that the rapid development of digital technology has forced the reform of education models. SIT had taken this opportunity to promote professional transformation and teaching reform, and had achieved significant results in talent cultivation mode innovation, professional construction quality improvement, school enterprise cooperation curriculum development, practical teaching center building, and high-level teacher team construction.

In specific practice, SIT relies on the Industrial College to innovate and construct the “Six in One and Five in One” school enterprise collaborative education model. Both schools and enterprises jointly develop talent training programs and distinctive courses, and precisely meet the needs of enterprises through order based and customized training models. The demand for students in order classes exceeds supply, and graduates achieve high-quality employment. SIT has also established a Modern Industry College Council to promote the participation of multiple stakeholders in decision-making, including the school government, administration, and enterprises, and to form a joint force for education. In addition, the university has actively expanded international cooperation, focused on training international talents of “specialty+language”, and delivered a large number of outstanding forces for the construction of the “the Belt and Road”.

SIT’s cooperation with leading companies in industries such as Huawei and Midea has provided valuable “SIT Plan” for the digital transformation of higher education. The innovative practices in the integration of industry and education, talent cultivation, and digital transformation of education not only enhance the school’s own level of education and social service capabilities, but also provide reference examples for other universities. I believe that in the future, both sides will continue to deepen cooperation, constantly explore and innovate in the wave of the digital age, and make greater contributions to cultivating more high-quality applied talents, promoting the development of higher education and local economic prosperity.
