From July 9th to 10th, a symposium on industry-education integration and curriculum teaching innovation in private universities was held in Qiqihar Institute of Technology, sponsored by the Higher Education Professional Committee of the China Association for Non-Governmental Education. The symposium, themed “Deepening Industry-Education Integration and Curriculum Teaching Innovation in Private Universities”, brought together representatives from private universities across the country to explore how to accelerate high-level industry-education integration and science-ed ucation integration to serve regional economic development.P1
President Li Kangju of our university was invited to attend the symposium and gave a special report entitled “Research on the Cultivation of Application-Oriented Talents in Private Engineering Universities under the Background of New Industrialization”. He shared the innovative practices and fruitful results of the school in the construction of modern industrial colleges. P1
At present, the world is ushering in an industrial transformation wave driven by digital and intelligent technologies. Frontier technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things are reshaping the industrial landscape, which also puts forward the era proposition of cultivating high-quality compound talents for higher education. Against this backdrop, this symposium focused on industry-education integration and curriculum teaching innovation, providing a platform for experience exchange and idea collision for private universities across the country.P1
In his report, Li Kangju introduced in detail the “Shenyang University of Technology Program” centered on the construction of modern industrial colleges in our university. The school closely follows the needs of the industry, actively responds to the call of the national new engineering construction, and builds a university-enterprise collaborative ecosystem centered on the intelligent manufacturing field. By integrating the advantages of university-enterprise resources, the school has carried out in-depth cooperation with leading enterprises at home and abroad such as Huawei, Midea, Rockwell Automation, Huazhong CNC, KUKA, and Inspur, and has built 19 modern industrial colleges, including the Huawei-Shenyang University of Technology Modern Industrial College, the Shenyang University of Technology-Midea Digital Lighthouse College, the Inspur Industrial Internet College Joint Innovation Center, and the KUKA Authorized Industrial Robot College. At the same time, 24 on-campus practical teaching centers and 296 laboratories have been built to build a teaching platform covering the entire production process of modern manufacturing. The platform focuses on four key links: root technology learning, tool application, production manufacturing, and operation and maintenance management, and cultivates high-quality application-oriented talents who are familiar with the architecture process of modern manufacturing, proficient in cutting-edge production technology, and good at using digital tools, providing a solid human resource support for industrial transformation and upgrading.P1P2
Li Kangju emphasized that the rapid development of digital technology has forced the innovation of education models. The school takes this as an opportunity to promote the transformation of majors and teaching reforms, and has achieved remarkable results in the innovation of talent training models, the improvement of the quality of major construction, the development of school-enterprise cooperative courses, the building of practical teaching centers, and the building of a high-level teacher team. In specific practice, our university relies on industrial colleges to innovate and build a “Six Co-operations and Five Integrations” university-enterprise collaborative education model. The university and enterprise jointly formulate talent training programs and develop characteristic courses, and through “order” and “customized” training models, accurately meet the needs of enterprises. Order class students are in high demand, and graduates achieve high-quality employment. The school also established a modern industrial college council to promote the participation of multiple subjects such as university, government, industry, and enterprise in decision-making, forming a合力 of educating people. In addition, the school actively expands international cooperation and strives to cultivate “professional + language” international compound talents, and has delivered a large number of outstanding personnel to the “Belt and Road” initiative.P2
Li Kangju said that the core of the construction of modern industrial colleges lies in breaking the barriers between universities and enterprises and realizing the organic connection between the education chain and talent chain and the industrial chain and innovation chain. Through years of practice, Shenyang University of Technology has formed unique advantages in teacher team building, practical teaching system construction, and employment service upgrading.
