On July 7th, during the 9th China Russia Expo, our university held an online international cooperation exchange meeting with South Ural State University and signed a joint training agreement for graduate students. Wagner Alexander Rudovvich, President of South Ural State University, Batapova Marina Vladimirovna, Vice President, Li Kangju, President of our university, and Xu Ying, Vice President, attended the signing ceremony.
Li Kangju stated in his speech that since the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two schools in 2016, significant achievements have been made in their cooperation. Our school has already sent students to South Ural State University to pursue master's degrees and teachers to pursue doctoral degrees. Last year, we successfully launched a 2+2 joint undergraduate training program. South Ural State University students come to our university for exchange studies. The two schools jointly established the Sino Russian International Joint Laboratory for Biological Resource Processing, where teachers and students gather through the "cloud platform" to engage in academic and cultural dialogue activities. These exchange activities serve as a solid bridge, closely connecting the education and culture of China and Russia, significantly enhancing mutual understanding and learning between faculty and students from both sides. Our school attaches great importance to the cooperation between both parties and hopes to further expand the joint talent cultivation of master's degree programs in more professional fields, strengthen the friendship between teachers and students of the two schools, and jointly promote the development of education and the prosperity of culture.
Wagner Alexander Rudovvich highly appreciates our school's level of education, international perspective, teaching facilities, and achievements in international exchange and cooperation. He stated that the two universities had previously enjoyed a very pleasant collaboration, carrying out a series of cooperative initiatives in areas such as joint training of talents, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research cooperation, achieving fruitful results. These accomplishments have laid a solid foundation for deeper collaboration between the two institutions in the future. He expressed full confidence in the future cooperation between the two universities and hoped to increase mutual visits and dialogues, as well as carry out deeper and broader international collaboration and exchanges in the future.
The two parties plan to establish a joint master's degree training center at our university, which will cover majors such as information technology, industrial robotics, economics, management, bioengineering, architecture, pedagogy, and mechanical manufacturing. Our students will be selected to pursue graduate studies at the Russian institution, and our faculty members will be appointed as graduate supervisors. This initiative aims to strengthen the complementary educational resources between both parties and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
At the meeting, both sides had in-depth discussions on cooperation in multiple fields such as joint training, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research cooperation, and reached multiple important cooperation consensuses. This signing marks a solid step forward in the cooperation between our university and South Ural State University in the fields of education and research. Both sides look forward to cultivating more international talents that meet the needs of the industry through cooperation, and making important contributions to promoting educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia.
