On October 17, the launch meeting for the Shenyang Institute of Engineering - Midea Digital Lighthouse Academy construction project was successfully held. Our university and Meiyunzhishu have jointly established the Shenyang Institute of Engineering - Midea Digital Lighthouse Academy, fully utilizing the enterprise’s digital practical training teaching environment to enhance the school's digital teaching capabilities in multiple dimensions and jointly cultivate digital transformation talents with a basic understanding of and proficiency in new technology applications across the entire research, production, supply, sales, and management landscape, which are urgently needed by enterprises. Jin Jiang, President of Meiyunzhishu, and Wang Zhaobao, Chairman of our university, attended the launch meeting. Zhou Min, Delivery Director of Meiyunzhishu Projects, Xu Ying, Vice Chancellor of our university, and relevant responsible persons from both sides also participated in the launch meeting.
Wang Zhaobao stated that with the rapid development of the digital economy, all walks of life are undergoing digital transformation and upgrading. Shenyang Institute of Engineering is acting in response to this trend by deepening the integration of industry and education, as well as school-enterprise cooperation, to empower the development of new-quality productive forces. The school aims to improve its education and teaching standards by collaborating with leading companies in the industry to create practical teaching centers equipped with advanced technology and equipment. Teacher training will be strengthened according to enterprise standards, and students' cognition and practical teaching will be enhanced by presenting real-world enterprise scenarios, allowing students to truly participate in enterprise cases and join in enterprise management and operations. Through such a high-level platform, the school aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents who meet the needs of enterprises. The school actively explores digital management, especially in student employment, creating precise profiles of students through digitization so that enterprises can have a comprehensive understanding of students' precise data in learning, practice, and other aspects during recruitment. He expressed his confidence in the cooperation between the school and Meiyunzhishu and in the future digital transformation.
Jin Jiang noted that digital transformation is a deep-level, comprehensive change, and the cultivation of high-quality applied talents with fusion experience mostly stems from enterprise practice. Based on its comprehensive digitalization and intellectualization, Midea has built a talent pool in various aspects such as lean operation systems, equipment automation, digitalization, and overall planning and design. Building on this accumulation of talent and experience, Midea has become one of the enterprises with the most lighthouse factories in China. This cooperation serves as a model for cooperation between representative enterprises in advanced manufacturing and higher education institutions. At the launch meeting, the head of the Modern Educational Technology Service Center at our university introduced the project background, and Zhou Min, Delivery Director of Meiyunzhishu Projects, presented an overview of the project’s overall planning and construction scheme.
The establishment of the Shenyang Institute of Engineering - Midea Digital Lighthouse Academy leverages Midea’s decades of manufacturing experience and digital transformation expertise to empower the school in various aspects such as business practice, software usage, new technology application, curriculum development, and digital training, creating an educational and practical training mode with Shenyang Institute of Engineering characteristics that meets the school’s needs for manufacturing digital talent cultivation, enhancement of teachers’ digital awareness, external visits and exchanges, and empowerment training. The project will help students gain insights, practice skills, and engage in real-world scenarios, enabling them to fully understand the full-value-chain digital operations of digital enterprises from order to delivery and establish a perception of enterprise digitalization. During professional course instruction, digital system applications will be integrated to strengthen the connection between theory and practice and technical skill development. During internship training, students will once again deeply engage and innovate in the full value chain of digital enterprises through job practice.
