The 9th Huawei Connect Conference with the theme of “Win-win Industry Intelligence” was held from September 19th to 21st at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center and the Shanghai World Expo Center. Many leaders, business elites, technical experts, partners, developers, and others were invited to explore how to empower thousands of industries and achieve a win-win intelligent future through intelligent and digital technologies from strategic, industrial, and ecological perspectives. Principal Li Kangju was invited to attend the conference and give a report. Shenyang Institute of Technology (SIT) has been selected as one of the first pilot schools for Huawei Star Network Joint Innovation Talents.
In the report, Li Kangju provided a detailed explanation of our school enterprise cooperation and the planning of the Modern Industry College with Huawei. He pointed out that the wave of digital and intelligent transformation is sweeping across the world, and new generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence are profoundly changing the way humans are facing, and also driving an unprecedented profound change in education. SIT keeps up with the development of the times, adopts a forward-looking strategic layout, and has built a number of high-level on campus practical teaching centers. We have carried out deep school enterprise cooperation with many leading domestic and foreign enterprises such as Huawei, Huazhong Numerical Control, Inspur, KUKA, Rockwell, etc. We have introduced advanced technology and equipment from these enterprises and formed a new model of school enterprise cooperation. We have achieved significant results in talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and other aspects, setting a new benchmark for school enterprise cooperation. On the basis of good cooperation with Huawei, we will jointly establish an international modern industry college and comprehensively build an international ICT innovation talent training base based on the modern industry college. Using the Modern Industry College as a platform to explore and promote the construction of the Modern Industry College and promote the comprehensive empowerment of digitalization for high-quality development of the school; Based on the international ICT innovation talent training base, SIT aims to create a talent training model in Liaoning Province and helps revitalize the old industrial base in Northeast China; Guided by the “Star Joint Innovation Talent Training Program”, we aim to establish a new benchmark for educational cooperation and continue to support the construction of Digital China.
Li Kangju stated that the cooperation with Huawei is of high starting point, high level, and high quality. Huawei is an internationally renowned ICT leading enterprise, and the International Industry College is an important carrier for cooperation between schools and enterprises. SIT’s cooperation with Huawei is to serve the national education output, and to carry out international exchanges and cooperation with Russia and other countries along the “the Belt and Road”; It serves the industries in Liaoning and Shenfu demonstration zones, providing high-quality applied talents to support the development of the industry, and deepening cooperation, strengthening the construction of advantageous majors in our school, promoting the deep integration of education, teaching, and scientific research innovation, injecting new vitality and momentum into the long-term development of SIT.
Since the cooperation between SIT and Huawei in 2018, both sides have continuously strengthened their contacts and deepened their cooperation. In 2021, a provincial-level modern industry college - the New Generation Information Technology Industry College - was jointly established. Huawei’s expert team and advanced technology were introduced to create a leading information technology experimental and teaching platform, resource sharing, and course co-construction. Through Huawei’s high-tech empowerment, some majors related to information technology in our school were comprehensively upgraded, and ICT application-oriented talents were trained to keep up with advancement nowadays. Both schools and enterprises jointly organize competitions to enhance students’ practical abilities. Huawei sent experts to the school to give lectures, bringing advanced technical knowledge to students. The talent cultivation achievements of both schools and enterprises are remarkable, and many outstanding graduates have been employed by Huawei, receiving widespread praise. The establishment of the International Modern Industry College and the selection of the first batch of pilot schools for Huawei Xingchen Network’s joint innovation talents will inject new impetus into the development of the school, SIT will seize the opportunities and challenges of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and cultivate high-quality applied talents who can adapt to new industrial development.
