Recently, the final results of the 8th China International “Internet plus” Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were announced, and Yongle Palace Mural Art Research Inheritance and Cultural Creative Application from the School of Arts and Media won the bronze medal, which is the first time that our school has been promoted to the national competition and won the bronze medal in this competition.

The professional research team at the School of Art and Media has been engaged in the inheritance and innovation research and practice of this project for 12 years. On the basis of the previous research results, a 2019 student named Liu Buwei as the key people by using the exquisite and unique character costumes, plastic arts, decorative patterns, and color expressions displayed by the Yongle Palace murals as the source of creation in this project has extended the traditional mural art to the field of arts and crafts. He also developed a series of original cultural products with strong Chinese cultural characteristics, allowing the excellent traditional Chinese culture to glow with new vitality in the new era.

The China International “Internet plus” Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is an important platform to promote innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in colleges and universities and an important platform to display the achievements of higher education teaching reform. As an application-oriented university, SIT attaches great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship education, building a “1344” innovation and entrepreneurship education system centered on cultivating students’ innovative spirit, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education into the entire process of talent cultivation, promoting education and teaching reform through the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform system, and adhering to the principle of promoting education, learning, and training through competitions.
