In the past year, we have united as one, worked hard and achieved fruitful results in education and teaching. One state-level first-class major and six provincial-level first-class majors were added; 25 educational projects on employment projects were approved by the Ministry of Education; another Project of the National Art Fund was won; two provincial-level famous teachers were added; and two majors were identified as provincial modern specialized subject of apprenticeship. It was selected as one of the first practice bases of college-enterprise cooperation to promote employment, and joined the Liaoning mining and petrochemical industry-university-research alliance of coal science and emergency industry. The first joint training project of "China-Belarus Machinery Design, Manufacturing and Automation 2+2" started.
In the past year, we have been honest and innovative, courageously moving forward, and the success of educating people and talents has been reported frequently. The achievements of talents training in school-enterprise cooperation were selected as typical cases in China. Three first prizes in the National College Students' Mechanical Innovation Design Competition were won for the first time. This is also the first time that our college has won two gold medals in the provincial "Internet+" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, advancing to the state-level one. Our college ranked No. 6 in the 2021 National College Discipline Competition Ranking List and No. 1 in Liaoning; It got the 41st place in the National Competition for Newly-built Undergraduate Colleges and Universities from 2017 to 2021 and ranked No.1 in Liaoning Province. It has come the 6th in a ranking of top 10 Chinese private universities by Wu Shulian in 2022 and 23rd in the ranking of comprehensive strength. Our college's achievements have been featured in the authoritative media, such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China Daily and so on.
Calm is the tide and the banks are broad. Gentle is the wind and the sail is stretching. The ten years since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) have been a decade of leapfrog development and brilliant progress for Shenyang Institute of Technology. We have been adhering to the leadership of the Party and the guiding position of Marxism, fully implementing the Party's education policy, adhering to the socialist orientation of running colleges, implementing the fundamental task of building moral character and cultivating people, and striving to make education to the satisfaction of the people. The level of running colleges has been significantly improved, and the construction achievements are obvious to all. The faculty are the practitioners of the school motto of "pursuing excellence, mutual aid and altruism". Every teacher and every student make a great contribution to the development of our college. We are on the two frontlines— fighting against the epidemic and "classes suspended but learning and teaching continue". We respect knowledge, care for students, discipline ourselves, and set a good example. With our practical actions, we have interpreted the mission and responsibility of educators in the new era!
Three-feet platform is the national fortune, and people's souls are forged by teachers. On the new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way and marching towards the second centenary goal, the development of the cause of the Party and the country has intensified the need for higher education, scientific knowledge and excellent talents. In the critical period when the college implements the "14th Five-Year Plan" and welcomes evaluation and promotes construction, we must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, establishing ourselves by virtue, establishing learning by virtue, teaching by virtue, helping each other with strict love, and nourishing ourselves and others.
