On December 5th, the 2020 academic annual meeting and secretary-general working meeting of the Liaoning Mechanical Engineering Society was held in Shenyang Institute of Technology. There will be keynote presentations and thematic forums at the annual conference. The series of activities attracted many deans of relevant colleges and universities in the province, members of the Liaoning Mechanical Engineering Society, and mechanical science and technology workers in the province to participate and jointly exchange the latest technological achievements of the academic circles and discuss the hot trends of the industry. The opening ceremony of the annual meeting was presided over by Yu Shengzhen, Chief Supervisor of the Liaoning Mechanical Engineering Society.

At the annual meeting, Zhao Ji, Chairman of Liaoning Mechanical Engineering Society and President of Northeastern University, delivered an opening speech. He called on the members of the society to unite closely around the Party Central Committee, grasp the opportunities of Liaoning’s economic and social development and Liaoning’s industrial transformation and development, and enhance their own strength in innovation and service development. At the same time, he proposed the future work direction of the council, which should focus on the economic needs of Liaoning Province, establish the research direction of the diversified development association, and improve the ability of serving the economy.

Li Kangju, vice chairman of Liaoning Mechanical Engineering Society and principal of SIT, gave a welcome speech. He said that at this annual meeting, well-known domestic experts and scholars in the field of mechanical engineering gathered in our school to bring a feast of thought and academic feast. Our school will also take it as an opportunity to gather insights, make friends with academic friends, broaden our horizons and enhance friendship. This grand event will definitely help the construction and development of Shenyang Institute of Technology. Experts from the industry are invited to give academic reports at this annual meeting. Professor Wang Yongqing from Dalian University of Technology gave an academic report entitled Clean Cutting Technology. Researcher Zhao Jibin from Shenyang Institute of Automation gave an academic report entitled Micro-water beam guided laser processing technology and application of difficult-to-process materials. Yadong Gong, the vice chairman and secretary-general of Liaoning Mechanical Engineering Society and professor of Northeastern University gave an academic report entitled Progress and Application of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology.

During the annual meeting, a forum for future talent training of intelligent manufacturing was also held. At the forum, Zhao Ji made an in-depth analysis on the five aspects of intelligent manufacturing talent training in the future, namely focusing on leadership from the perspective of development history, diversity from the perspective of popularization, openness from the perspective of integration, practicality from the perspective of engineering and intelligence from the perspective of new teaching. He also gave an authoritative explanation on the four aspects of thinking on mechanical engineering education, establishment of mechanical majors, engineering certification of mechanical majors, and construction of first-class mechanical major.

After the meeting, the participants visited our school’s intelligent manufacturing production line, robot training center and intelligent high-speed five-axis base.
