On September 16, the 2026 "Consuls from Foreign Consulates General in Shenyang Visit Shenfu" thematic research and exchange event was successfully held. The event was hosted by the Management Committee of the Shenfu Reform and Innovation Demonstration Zone, co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Liaoning Province, and undertaken by our university. A delegation composed of consular officials from the consulates general of multiple countries in Shenyang visited our university and carried out field visits and discussions focusing on science and education innovation and industry-education integration, jointly exploring new paths for international cooperation in education.
The event closely followed the education and science and technology international cooperation direction of the Liaoning International Friendship Cities Conference and the theme of the 7th Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair, "New Momentum for Opening-up, A New Chapter for Revitalization." It was organized around the "Three Zones and One Engine" development positioning of the Shenfu Demonstration Zone and was an important practice for our university to proactively serve the overall situation of regional opening-up and showcase its educational achievements.
The delegation successively visited several industry colleges and practical teaching centers at our university, including the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, the Modern Industry College of Preschool Education, and the SIT-Siemens Joint Demonstration Practical Teaching Center for Advanced Automation Technology. They inspected on site the construction of our university's practical teaching venues for industry-education integration, practical teaching facilities, and university-enterprise collaborative education platforms. They learned in detail about our university's practical achievements in aligning with the regional industrial development layout and deepening joint university-enterprise education, and spoke highly of our university's educational philosophy and achievements in deepening industry-education integration, university-enterprise collaborative education, and cultivating applied talents.
After the field visits, the consular delegation held discussions and exchanges with representatives of our university and relevant departments of the demonstration zone. At the meeting, our university introduced to the delegation the university's development history and the overall situation of its international educational exchanges. Participants conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as joint talent cultivation, scientific research project cooperation, mutual visits and exchanges between teachers and students, and deepening industry-education integration, jointly exploring new models and new paths for international cooperation in education.
The consular officials said that through this field visit, they had gained a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of higher education and industry-education collaborative development in the Shenfu Reform and Innovation Demonstration Zone, and were deeply impressed by our university's distinctive educational characteristics and achievements in open education. In the future, they will fully leverage the bridge role of the consulates, actively promote connections between universities and institutions of their countries and our university, and tap more cooperation opportunities in talent exchanges, scientific research collaboration, and other fields. The successful holding of this event is another important achievement in our university's external exchange work.
Next, our university will take this "Consuls Visit Shenfu" event as an opportunity, continue to base itself on the distinctive feature of industry-education integration, continuously expand its "circle of friends" for external exchange and cooperation, actively build an internationalized education platform, empower talent cultivation through open cooperation, and contribute SIT strength to the region's high-level opening-up and comprehensive revitalization.
