On July 24, Hu Xiaomei, Secretary of the University Party Committee; Li Kangju, President of the University; and Xu Ying, Vice President of the University, conducted an on-site inspection of the student admissions and enrollment process to oversee all aspects of the 2026 admissions and enrollment activities. They gained a detailed understanding of the overall progress of this year's admissions efforts, visited and extended their regards to the staff working on the front lines of the admissions and enrollment process, and issued specific directives for further improving this year's admissions and enrollment work.

At the admissions office, the university leadership carefully listened to the report delivered by Hu Chenchen, Head of the Admissions and Employment Office, regarding this year's undergraduate admissions process; they inquired in detail about the admissions progress across various provinces, the minimum admission scores, as well as the printing and mailing of admission notices; they fully affirmed the smooth implementation of the admissions process and the fact that the admissions staff had provided candid and heartfelt consultation services to candidates and their families in accordance with relevant regulations and policies; and they issued guiding opinions and work requirements for further enhancing the admissions efforts.

The university leadership highly commended the admissions team for their exemplary work ethic—showing unwavering determination despite the scorching heat, working tirelessly, and fulfilling their duties with utmost dedication. They emphasized that the student admissions process represents the first critical checkpoint in the university's talent development pipeline; it involves highly policy-driven procedures and attracts significant public attention, bearing the hopes of countless candidates and their families. All staff members are urged to elevate their political awareness, firmly cultivate a sense of responsibility and a "bottom-line thinking" approach, strictly adhere to all admissions regulations issued by the Ministry of Education as well as the provincial and municipal education authorities, standardize their work processes, perform their duties in accordance with established protocols, exercise rigorous oversight, and successfully complete this year's undergraduate admissions and enrollment tasks with high quality. Furthermore, they should systematically advance follow-up activities—including the dispatch of admission letters, provision of services for new students, and analysis of admissions data—and diligently execute the "second half of the admissions process" to continuously strengthen the university's student recruitment foundation.

Subsequently, the university leadership engaged in cordial conversations with the on-site admissions staff, as well as held face-to-face discussions with the incoming students and their parents who had visited the campus in person. They patiently addressed questions raised by the visitors regarding academic programs, campus life, and future career prospects, provided detailed introductions to the university's distinctive educational features and teaching philosophy, and extended a warm welcome along with high hopes to the new students joining the class of 2026.

As of July 24, the university has admitted 4,570 new students. Based on data from provinces where admissions have been completed, the university has maintained a stable admission ranking across most source provinces, while its admission rankings for science and engineering programs have shown steady improvement; overall, the quality of its student body continues to enhance. Taking Liaoning Province as an example, the first round of undergraduate admissions for the 2026 admission cycle has been fully completed, and all admission letters have been sealed and mailed out. The quality of applicants for the Physics track has been improving year by year; the highest admission score reached 539 points, and the admission cutoff scores for 12 programs exceeded 400 points. Popular, competitive majors have performed exceptionally well: the Electrical Engineering and Automation program has an enrollment quota of 179 students, with the lowest admission score 90 points above the provincial admission threshold; the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation program has an enrollment quota of 168 students, with the lowest admission score 78 points above the provincial admission threshold; the Automation program has an enrollment quota of 70 students, with the lowest admission score 73 points above the provincial admission threshold; the Armament Science and Technology program has an enrollment quota of 97 students, with the lowest admission score 71 points above the provincial admission threshold; and the Veterinary Medicine program has an enrollment quota of 105 students, with the lowest admission score 71 points above the provincial admission threshold.

Currently, the admission process for the remaining provinces is progressing in an orderly manner. The university will promptly announce the admission results and expedite the mailing of admission letters. Candidates may log in to the "Admission Inquiry" section on the Shenyang Institute of Technology Admissions Information Website or follow the WeChat public account "Shenyang Institute of Technology Admissions and Employment" to check the admission status for the provinces and admission batches in which they have been admitted.
