Recently, the school running characteristics and development achievements of Shenyang Institute of Technology have been compiled into The People’s Republic of China Yearbook, a national level comprehensive reference book. It has been featured in a special illustrated report under the column “Special edition Introduction to Government Organs, Enterprises and Public Institutions”, marking a highly significant national level authoritative recognition in our university’s pursuit of high quality education.
First published in 1981, The People’s Republic of China Yearbook is China’s sole comprehensive national yearbook, confirmed by the General Office of the State Council, approved by the National Press and Publication Administration, administered by Xinhua News Agency, published by Xinhua Publishing House, and edited and produced by the China Yearbook Press. It has been issued for 44 consecutive volumes. Covering politics, economy, culture, society, diplomacy, ecological civilization and other sectors, it features authoritative data and rigorous compilation standards, serving as a core reference for domestic and international communities to study and understand China’s development status.
The special edition systematically presents our university’s basic profile and core strengths. For years, our university has deepened the integration of industry and education, winning multiple provincial and national level key talent training projects. Aligning closely with national industrial development strategies, we have jointly built 28 modern industrial colleges with well known domestic and international enterprises including Huawei, Midea, KUKA, Siemens and Guangzhou South Surveying & Mapping. These colleges cover more than 80% of all majors across the university. We have effectively broken down barriers between campus and industry, integrating cutting edge corporate technical standards, real world production projects and authentic workplace scenarios into daily teaching. This realizes seamless linkage among the education chain, talent chain, industrial chain and innovation chain. Drawing on solid outcomes of school enterprise collaborative development, our innovative practices for industry education integration have been selected as a national typical case for industry education integration application scenarios, offering replicable and promotable practical models for peer institutions to deepen industry education collaboration.
In terms of open door education, the university adheres to an international development strategy and keeps expanding channels for foreign exchange and cooperation. We have established in depth partnerships with 62 high level universities across 19 countries worldwide, covering more than 30 undergraduate and postgraduate majors. We regularly carry out 2+2 joint training programs, undergraduate postgraduate articulation programs and credit recognition initiatives. The newly inaugurated International Graduate School in 2026 has rolled out joint master training programs. The university pioneers an order based international talent training model of “Major + Language”. It provides free special language courses in English, Japanese and Russian for all students, cultivating high quality compound application oriented talents for multinational enterprises and foreign related industries. This has forged a distinctive and effective path for international oriented education.
In addition, our university has seized opportunities brought by the development of AI empowered education. It is among China’s first universities to deploy the DeepSeek large language model on premises. A dedicated controllable computing power platform of 126P has been built, paired with a 100Gbps all optical high speed campus intranet, forming a domestically leading educational agent development system. Multiple AI applications have been launched for smart teaching, speech practice instruction and intelligent office work to support teaching, research and campus life for teachers and students. Centered on the philosophy of “dual cultivation of human competence and artificial intelligence”, the university phases in smart teaching upgrades. It collaborates with Huawei and Midea to develop industry specific intelligent agents. Comprehensive digital intelligent upgrades empower teaching research, major construction and campus governance, building a benchmark for smart talent cultivation in the new era.
Our university develops precise talent training models and builds high end enterprise oriented training systems. It runs distinctive class programs including the Shenyang Institute of Technology Huazhong CNC “Belt and Road” Order Class, Shenyang Institute of Technology KUKA Order Class and Shenyang Institute of Technology Geely Power Order Class. We practice customized talent training under the concept of “enrollment equals employment, training equals post orientation”. Meanwhile, we implement the dual featured education models of “learning with professional certifications” and “learning with paid internships”. Authoritative vocational certification resources are available, including 480 certifications under six major industrial categories of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 81 Huawei certifications and 56 certifications issued by the China Machinery Industry Federation, covering hot spot sectors such as artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing. Students obtain both academic diplomas and professional vocational credentials.
Our university provides in depth support for regional industrial transformation and upgrading. It hosts two key provincial level practical platforms, takes the lead in establishing the Liaoning Provincial Academy for New type Industrialization of Small and medium sized Enterprises, and has been accredited as a key provincial level enabling unit for SMEs’ “digital intelligent transformation”. We have built a provincial level digital intelligent transformation experience center in partnership with Midea Group. By pooling resources from central enterprises and leading industrial firms, we have created high quality platforms for industry university research practical cooperation. Students can participate in real world digital intelligent transformation projects for local enterprises under faculty supervision, translating classroom theories into practical capabilities. Over the past five years, students from our university have won 907 national level innovation entrepreneurship awards and 11,055 provincial level awards. The university ranks 58th among newly built undergraduate institutions nationwide and 16th among private universities nationwide.
