On May 15, the Liaoning Provincial Work Promotion Conference on "Empowering Development through Industry-Education Linkage" was held at the multi-functional lecture hall of Siasun Education Technology Group. Hosted by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, the conference aims to thoroughly implement the Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Key Elements in Vocational Education Teaching issued by the Ministry of Education and the deployment requirements of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and the Liaoning Provincial People's Government for high-quality vocational education development. Adhering to the principle of guiding education with industry and promoting education through industry, the conference comprehensively advances school-enterprise cooperation, collaborative education and win-win development. Li Kangju, President of SIT, was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled Deepening Industry-Education Integration and Exploring the Training Model of High-Quality Applied Talents. He systematically shared the university's school-running achievements in the digital and intelligent era, innovative practices in industry-education integration, and the effectiveness of ongoing actions to serve industrial intelligent transformation and digital upgrading, drawing wide attention and high recognition from all participants.
In his report, President Li Kangju elaborated on the university’s exploration and practices in industry-education integration centered on two core sectors: modern industrial college construction and talent training outcomes. He mainly introduced the "Shenyang Institute of Technology Solution" focused on the construction of modern industrial colleges, and discussed innovative approaches to cultivating new-type talents driven by AI technology with representatives from participating institutions and enterprises. Responding actively to the national initiative for emerging engineering education construction and closely aligning with industrial development needs, SIT focuses on the intelligent manufacturing sector and strives to build a school-enterprise collaborative ecosystem covering all links of modern manufacturing industries.
In recent years, the university has deepened strategic cooperation with leading domestic and foreign enterprises including Huawei, Midea, Rockwell Automation, Huazhong CNC, KUKA and Inspur. It has established 28 modern industrial colleges, such as the Huawei-Shenyang Institute of Technology Modern Industrial College, SIT-Midea Digital Lighthouse College, Inspur Industrial Internet College Joint Innovation Center and KUKA Authorized Industrial Robotics College. These platforms form a complete teaching system covering the whole process of modern manufacturing. The university cultivates high-quality applied talents who are familiar with modern manufacturing structures and processes, proficient in cutting-edge production technologies and skilled in using digital tools, providing solid human resource support for industrial transformation and upgrading.
Relying on the industrial colleges, SIT has innovatively constructed a school-enterprise collaborative talent training model featuring "Six Joint Efforts and Five Integrations". Universities and enterprises jointly formulate talent training programs, develop characteristic courses, expand enterprise ecological cooperation, deepen industry-education integration and achievement transformation, and tap diversified resources for internship and employment. Meanwhile, empowered by international education cooperation, the university has carried out exchanges and cooperation with many universities along the Belt and Road, cultivating international applied talents with both professional competence and language proficiency. The customized and order-oriented talent training modes precisely meet enterprise demands. Graduates from order classes are in short supply, achieving high-quality employment.
SIT takes serving regional economic and social development as an important mission. It takes the lead in building the Liaoning Provincial New Industrialization Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, serving as an open service platform for small and medium-sized enterprises across the province and a reliable technical partner and talent base for enterprises undergoing digital transformation. The university continuously carries out services for industrial intelligent transformation and digital upgrading, fully opening its on-campus laboratories, pilot bases, computing platforms and expert resources. Faculty and student technical teams are organized to provide targeted on-site services for enterprises.
Previously, Meiyun Zhishu, a cooperative enterprise of the university, successfully won the bid for the provincial intelligent transformation and digital upgrading project for large-scale textile enterprises in Liaoning, undertaking diagnosis services for 339 high-end textile and fashion brand enterprises in the province. In early May, the university jointly launched special training programs with Meiyun Zhishu, and 134 teachers and students passed the assessment. Since then, the joint school-enterprise expert team has officially entered enterprises to carry out professional diagnosis and guidance services.
In the future, SIT will further deepen industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, continuously optimize the talent training model, improve school-running quality and education level, and make greater contributions to serving the national industrial upgrading strategy.
