On January 4, Xu Guiyou, CEO of KUKA China, led a delegation to visit  for inspection and exchange. The two sides held in-depth discussions on such topics as the practice of industry-education integration in the digital intelligence era, the development trend of the intelligent manufacturing industry, and the cultivation of high-quality applied talents. Wang Zhaobao, Chairman of SIT, and Xu Ying, Vice President, met with the delegation and attended the symposium.

At the symposium, Chairman Wang Zhaobao extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Xu Guiyou and reaffirmed the university’s firm commitment to the education philosophy of industry-education integration. He pointed out that the essence of education is to equip students with solid capabilities to meet future challenges and shoulder the responsibilities of the times. By actively introducing high-quality corporate resources and advanced practical experience, the university aims to enable students to align with industrial standards and accumulate practical experience during their studies, achieve a smooth transition from classrooms to jobs, and shorten the adaptation period from campus to workplace. Currently, the university is promoting the reform of its teaching system by introducing AI agents and other technologies to return to the essence of education. Meanwhile, he encouraged students in the order-training classes to recognize the trend of the times, broaden their vision and mindset, benchmark against advanced industrial standards, embrace new technologies and industries represented by artificial intelligence, aspire to take on important roles in the field of intelligent manufacturing, and repay society and their alma mater with outstanding achievements.

Xu Guiyou reviewed the original aspiration, mission and practical achievements of KUKA’s cooperation with Shenyang Institute of Technology in advancing industry-education integration. Faced with the dual challenges of corporate talent shortages and difficulties in graduate employment, KUKA, under the policy guidance of the Ministry of Education, has joined hands with Shenyang Institute of Technology to build the world’s only KUKA Full-category Technical College – the KUKA Authorized Industrial Robotics College, with a total investment of nearly 100 million yuan. The college has delivered more than 300 outstanding graduates to KUKA and its ecological enterprises, realizing the precise matching of talent supply and demand between the university and the enterprise. He emphasized that intelligent manufacturing is the core support for improving production efficiency and empowering industrial upgrading. The rapid growth of KUKA China’s business has created strong demand for talents. He encouraged students to cultivate solid professional skills and improve their foreign language proficiency, and actively seize the precious opportunities brought by the globalization of China’s manufacturing industry.

Chen Hong, Director of the Education Industry Department of KUKA China, introduced the general development of KUKA China. With 127 years of history, KUKA Group, since becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Midea Group, has deeply rooted itself in the Chinese market by relying on Midea’s strong resources and global network layout, focusing on the strategies of localization, globalization, diversification and digitalization. As a "chain leader" enterprise in the robot industry chain recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, KUKA China has actively promoted the localization of core components, with businesses covering key fields such as industrial robots, automation solutions, smart logistics, and medical technology, serving world-renowned enterprises including BMW and Tesla. Notably, Shenyang Institute of Technology is the only university in China fully equipped with and applying KUKA’s full series of products on a large scale, a unique advantage that reflects the profound long-term cooperative foundation between the two parties.

During the interactive session with students from the KUKA order-training classes, the students actively raised questions concerning personal competency development, career development paths, corporate working environment, curriculum optimization and promotion channels. Xue Yan, General Manager of Automotive Automation at KUKA China, shared the core logic of career growth centered on “Competence is the foundation, while cognition defines the height”; Zhang Yuxiang, HRBP Director of KUKA, combined his own career experience to introduce KUKA’s broad and diversified development prospects, providing valuable references for students’ career planning.

This visit and exchange further consolidated the strategic cooperative partnership between KUKA China and , laying a solid foundation for both sides to deepen industry-education integration and jointly cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents to meet the needs of the new era of intelligent manufacturing. Both sides agreed to continue exploring innovative models of university-enterprise cooperation, deepen resource sharing and complementary advantages, jointly boost industrial upgrading and the development of national new quality productivity, and write a new chapter of collaborative education and industrial empowerment between universities and enterprises.

After the symposium, Xu Guiyou and his delegation visited a series of modern industrial colleges and centers in , including SIT-National Time & Space BeiDou Spatial-Temporal Information Industry College, Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, Huawei-SIT Modern Industry College, Inspur Industrial Internet College Joint Innovation Center, SIT-Midea Digital Lighthouse College, and SIT-Siemens College.
