On October 21st, Wang Jianguo, President of Yantai Gold College, and his delegation visited our university for inspection and exchange. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as joint program development, integration of industry and education, and technical collaboration. Our university's President Li Kangju attended the symposium and accompanied the guests on a tour.
At the symposium, Li Kangju extended a warm welcome to Wang Jianguo and his delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of Shenyang Institute of Technology's development. He pointed out that the university consistently adheres to an engineering-oriented educational focus. On one hand, it deepens international exchanges with universities in countries such as Russia and Japan; on the other hand, it maintains close cooperation with leading enterprises like Huazhong CNC and KUKA. By jointly establishing industry colleges, the university provides precise services for enterprises and their ecosystem partners, having already achieved substantial progress in areas such as pre-sales and after-sales technical support and international cooperation. Furthermore, leveraging the technology and experience of top-tier companies like Huawei and Midea, the university is actively pursuing digital transformation. Simultaneously, Li Kangju candidly shared existing challenges in the construction of industry colleges, such as the "insufficiently tight integration between faculty and industrial knowledge," expressing hope to join hands with more universities for mutual construction and learning.
Wang Jianguo expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the basic situation of Yantai Gold College. Since its enrollment commencement in 2016, programs such as Information Engineering, Information Networks, and Mechatronics have shown high compatibility with those at Shenyang Institute of Technology. He stated that through the on-site inspection, he deeply felt the substantial investment and remarkable results of Shenyang Institute of Technology in teaching construction, particularly in the field of industry-education integration. "Although Shandong is a major province for vocational education, past construction concepts were relatively lagging. As a private university, Shenyang Institute of Technology's ability to cooperate with over ten top-tier enterprises and continuously invest in laboratory construction demonstrates profound educational commitment and high-level development, which is truly admirable." Wang Jianguo specifically mentioned that while mining and mineral processing have entered a modern stage, links such as geothermal and rock blasting are still constrained by harsh environments, urgently needing empowerment through advanced technology. He hopes to draw on the industry college construction model of Shenyang Institute of Technology to further strengthen his own college's practices in integrating industry and education.
Huawei representative Zhang Tao stated during the exchange that Shenyang Institute of Technology's practices in industry-education integration have become a global cooperation model for Huawei. Huawei's root technologies also provide strong support for the university's teaching development. He looks forward to promoting the successful experience of Shenyang Institute of Technology to Yantai City and even the entire Shandong Province, aiding the high-quality development of regional vocational education.
Prior to the symposium, Wang Jianguo and his delegation visited our university's Huawei-SIT Modern Industry College, SIT-Midea Digital Lighthouse College, SIT-South Surveying & Mapping Beidou Spatio-temporal Information Industry College, and the KUKA Authorized Industrial Robotics College.
Accompanying the inspection and participating in the symposium were Li Wentao, Director of the Training Center at Yantai Gold College; Wang Xinyan, Director of the Geological Survey Department; Sun Xiuru, Director of the Mechatronics Department; Meng Qingyan, Director of the Information Engineering Department; Dou Yuandong, Director of the Environmental Materials Department; from our university, Zhang Zhuhua, Dean of the School of Information and Control; and Liu Pai, Vice Dean of the College of Continuing Education.
