On March 3, 2025, the Mobile World Congress 2025 kicked off in Barcelona, Spain. As one of the most influential exhibitions in the global mobile communication field, this conference has brought together technology giants, industry leaders and innovation pioneers from around the world. Shenyang Institute of Technology was invited to participate. During the conference, a global education forum and a high-level roundtable meeting were held. Professor Justin from our university shared the school's innovative practices and profound insights in talent cultivation and industry-education integration in the digital and intelligent era, attracting extensive attention.
At present, the world is undergoing a profound transformation driven by digital and intelligent technologies. The rapid development of cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and cloud computing has not only reshaped the industrial landscape, but also posed new challenges to the education field. How to cultivate high-quality compound talents to adapt to the digital and intelligent era has become the focus of attention of the global education community.
At the global education forum, Professor Justin delivered a keynote speech titled Exploration on the Cultivation of New Productive Forces Talents in the Context of the Digital and Intelligent Era, elaborating in detail on the school's innovative practices and successful experiences in meeting this challenge. Over the years, the school has adhered to the guidance of industrial demand, deepened the integration of industry and education, and constructed a unique talent cultivation model. The school has established in-depth cooperative relationships with industry leading enterprises such as Huawei and established the largest and most technologically comprehensive international modern industrial college in cooperation with Huawei in the global higher education field. This cooperation focuses on Huawei's six core technologies, which not only provides advanced hardware facilities for teaching and scientific research, is equipped with a number of professional laboratories such as data communication laboratories and HarmonyOS laboratories, as well as a multi-functional Huawei exhibition hall, but also realizes the seamless connection between professional courses and industrial needs through the joint development of application-oriented teaching materials, practical instruction manuals and project research by schools and enterprises.
In the process of talent cultivation, the school has innovatively adopted the teaching mode of "enterprise experts + in-school teachers", enabling students to seamlessly connect with the cutting-edge practical knowledge of the industry on the basis of solid theoretical learning. Through activities such as enterprise scene reproduction, Huawei ICT Competition and talent job fairs, students are helped to efficiently transform professional knowledge into practical skills, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.
The school has also explored a progressive talent cultivation path based on the industrial college. According to the needs of students in different stages, a progressive cultivation model has been designed to carry out cultivation in layers and levels. From guiding students to establish professional interests, understand the industry and master basic tools in their freshman year, to arranging enterprise field learning in their junior year, and then encouraging students to keep up with cutting-edge technological innovation in their senior year, the school gradually realizes practical empowerment, digital and intelligent empowerment and language empowerment, comprehensively improving students' comprehensive abilities and enabling them to grow into high-quality application-oriented talents meeting the needs of enterprises.
The school has cooperated with Huawei to deepen AI + education. The Starry Joint Innovation Laboratory of Shenyang Institute of Technology is based on the "AI + digital communication" model, giving play to Huawei's advantages in AI, cloud computing and other aspects, and using Huawei's ICT technology curriculum system to jointly build a practical teaching base and a new talent cultivation system. The local deployment of deepseek on campus focuses on the education scene and has great advantages in academic professionalism and functional use. The model meets the needs of teachers and students based on the school's talent cultivation, course materials, research reports and other resources. The deepseek module is embedded in the campus APP, and the Huawei Ascend server model is used to train and optimize the computing power, realizing students' autonomous learning, intelligent Q&A and accurate evaluation.
In recent years, through cooperation with enterprises such as Huawei, the school has continuously expanded the school-enterprise collaborative ecosystem and carried out collaborative innovation in industry-education integration and achievement transformation. The school has strengthened teacher training, improved the school running level, and used enterprise resources to provide students with rich employment opportunities. At the roundtable meeting, Professor Justin further shared the school's successful experience in school-enterprise collaborative education. In the cooperation with high-quality enterprises such as Huawei, Rockwell and Siemens, the school has not only carried out high-quality school-enterprise cooperation order classes, but also introduced advanced industry equipment and technologies, enabling students to come into contact with cutting-edge industry technologies and equipment on campus and get familiar with the enterprise and industry environment in advance. At the same time, the enterprise environment and corporate culture are integrated into the campus, and the students' practical ability is improved through the method of "learning by doing and doing while learning", realizing the deep integration of theory and practice. The school has deepened international exchanges and cooperation, cooperating with 51 universities in 15 countries and carrying out the reform of the "major + language" teaching mode. The first batch of students in the order classes have been fully employed by high-tech enterprises in many places such as Zhejiang and Beijing.
Our university's appearance at MWC 2025 not only demonstrated the school's outstanding achievements in talent cultivation and industry-education integration in the digital and intelligent era, but also provided valuable experience for the global education community, highlighting the influence of Chinese higher education on the global stage. As a representative of Chinese higher education, the practical achievements of our university have not only set a benchmark for the Chinese education community, but also provided a Chinese solution for global education reform.
