On February 24, Huawei’s inaugural star lecturer team officially commenced their residency program, launching on-site teaching at our university. They introduced cutting-edge courses such as Ascend Machine Learning, HarmonyOS Mobile Application Development, and Kunpeng Development Technologies and Applications to over 40 classes across five majors, including Computer Science and Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Communication Engineering. This initiative has accelerated the deepening of industry-education integration between Shenyang Institute of Technology and Huawei.
During the opening class, Huawei’s star lecturers leveraged their extensive industry expertise to share Huawei’s business development journey. Through interactive methods such as hands-on case studies and group teaching, they transformed complex technical knowledge into engaging and accessible content, enabling students to directly experience the application of advanced technologies in real-world scenarios. This "classroom-as-workplace" teaching model received unanimous praise from faculty and students.
Since signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. in September 2024, our university has collaborated with the company to establish Northeast Asia’s first international ICT innovation talent training base under the Modern Industry College framework. The two parties have pursued in-depth cooperation in frontier technology fields. A high-level practical teaching center, jointly developed around six key technological directions—Ascend, HarmonyOS, Kunpeng, Big Data, 5G, and Networking—has gradually become a cradle for nurturing digital talent.
In February of this year, 15 senior Huawei technical training experts and engineers joined Shenyang Institute of Technology to co-build a "dual-qualified" teaching team through "faculty integration," injecting robust professional expertise into the curriculum. The collaboration extends beyond Huawei’s specialized course system to include joint applications for Huawei’s original horizontal research projects, the development of industry-adapted teaching materials, and tailored professional competency training. These efforts comprehensively elevate the university’s academic programs, fostering industry-academia collaboration to cultivate versatile talent with both theoretical grounding and practical skills for Northeast China’s digital industry.
This partnership represents a significant step by Shenyang Institute of Technology in responding to the national strategy of "deepening industry-education integration." By integrating Huawei’s advanced technological resources and talent development standards, Shenyang Institute of Technology aims to accelerate the creation of an integrated "industry-academia-research-application" ecosystem, providing robust talent and intellectual support for the digital economy in Northeast China. The collaboration has yielded fruitful outcomes: students gain access to cutting-edge knowledge and hands-on opportunities, while Huawei’s ecosystem enterprises secure a pipeline of high-quality technical talent. This "shared cultivation, shared benefits, and mutual success" model sets a new benchmark for industry-education integration and opens a new chapter in university-enterprise cooperation.
