The Invitation of the 4th Sino-Russia International Academic Symposium of Shenyang Institute of Technology

From October 2 to 4, the fourth International Seminar “Russia-China: Dialogue in the Context of Globalization” was held in Chita, Zabaikalsk, Russia. The seminar systematically and comprehensively analyzed contemporary issues of Sino-Russian dialogue in the context of globalization, improved the level of scientific, information and cultural exchanges, carried out scientific activities within a certain research framework, and determined the mechanisms and programs for future scientific research in the humanitarian direction of Sino-Russian cooperation. During the meeting, SIT, Trans-Baikal State University, Heilongjiang University of Foreign Languages and Shandong Technology and Business University, have established the Social and Humanistic Research Center for Global, Regional and Cross-border Human Capital Issues in the Resource Rrich Far Eastern Federation of the Russian Federation and the Three Northeastern Provinces of the People's Republic of China.

At the ceremony, Xu Ying, the Vice President of SIT, delivered a speech on behalf of all students and faculty. She said that this cooperation has exerted great influence on academic exchanges  in the context of globalization at the time of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Since the successful holding of the first Sino Russian International Academic Symposium in 2019, the cooperation between SIT and the University of Baikal has become increasingly intensive and frequent. The interactive visits between the presidents of the two universities have effectively promoted in-depth cooperation and exchanges. At the same time, both universities have achieved fruitful results in student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and have successfully held student cultural performances multiple times, showcasing the charm of Chinese and Russian youth. In the future, the Sino-Russia International Academic Symposium will continue to leverage its advantages in academic exchanges, talent cultivation, scientific research, and other aspects to promote China Russia education cooperation to a new stage.

At the seminar, experts and scholars from several Russian universities, including Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg State University of Marine Technology, Pacific State University, and post Baikal State University, discussed topics such as educational cooperation and exchange, cultural dialogue, interstate cooperation through social science research, and regional economic development.

Meanwhile, the Charter of the Social and Humanistic Research Center for Global, Regional, and Cross border Human Capital Issues in the Resource Regions of the Far Eastern Federation of the Russian Federation and the Three Northeastern Provinces of the People's Republic of China was adopted. The center will strengthen mutual trust, understanding, and respect among partner universities and gradually implement joint scientific cooperation, and open up to other Russian and Chinese universities for cooperation in areas such as human capital. The center's activities are based on mutual trust, equality, respect for the national cultures of China and Russia and joint scientific research, and are carried out in areas opened by partner universities.

At the same time, the Russian University of Baikal sended a grateful letter to SIT. They really appreciated the contributions of SIT  to the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, as well as the exchanges and personnel training between China and Russia. The cooperation has been developed since 2017, and  maintained a good  relationship for these years. The two sides have carried out in-depth cooperation in various aspects such as teacher-student exchanges, scientific research, and cultural and sports activities in detail. Both parties jointly initiate academic exchanges and international seminars, hold cultural performances, conduct student visits, and build an international academic exchange platform. In visiting activities, students from both sides would learn and exchange ideas with each other, so as to the improvement of cross-cultural communication, which committed to the exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
