On July 21, President Li Kangju, Vice-presidents Shao Yu and Gong Piguo went to Shenyang Ligong University to conduct research on comprehensively promoting open school running and school university cooperation. Ning Xiansheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shenyang Ligong University, and Vice Presidents Wang Baoling, Feng Yongxin and Shu Qilin, received Li Kangju and his delegation.

At the symposium, Ning Xiansheng warmly welcomed the visitors and introduced the open running of Shenyang Ligong University from the aspects of implementing the “promoting the open running of ordinary colleges and universities, strengthening cooperation and realizing high-quality development” of three provinces and one district, focusing on the cooperation experience between Shenyang Ligong University and weapons universities in recent years and the development direction of Shenyang Ligong University during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Ning Xiansheng said that Shenyang Institute of Technology had a deep relationship with Shenyang Ligong University. He hopes that the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in open school running, development and sharing of high-quality teaching resources, cooperation in scientific research projects and service to ordnance industry, so as to jointly create a new situation for the cause development of the two universities.

In his speech, Li Kangju briefly introduced the opening up of our school. He said, as a former parent university and now a brother university, Shenyang Ligong University has a unique historical origin and there is a cooperation foundation between the two universities, especially in discipline construction. Li Kangju suggested that the two universities could comprehensively strengthen cooperation in carrying out students' cross school study, mutual recognition of credits, development of high-quality teaching resources, cultivation of master’s students, mutual visits and exchanges of teachers, cooperation in scientific research projects and sharing of scientific research management experience, so as to promote complementary advantages and realize coordinated development. Subsequently, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation issues.

After the meeting, Li Kangju and his party were invited to visit the Weapons Museum of Shenyang Ligong University.
