From April 2 to 3, chairman of the board Wang Zhaobao and his delegation visited Midea Group for an exchange visit. Midea Group's Chairman and President Fang Hongbo, Vice President and President of the Robotics and Automation Division Gu Yanmin, Corporate Business President Wang Xinliang, Midea Cloud Intelligence President Jin Jiang, KUKA China General Manager Xu Guiyou, Education Industry Director Chen Hong, and other relevant officials warmly received Wang Zhaobao and his team. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as intelligent manufacturing talent cultivation, modern industrial college construction, and market expansion into Southeast Asia, reaching multiple points of cooperation consensus.
At the symposium, Gu Yanmin extended a warm welcome to Wang Zhaobao and his delegation. He stated that as a leading enterprise in China's manufacturing industry, Midea Group has always attached great importance to cooperation between schools and enterprises, viewing it as a crucial strategy for promoting industrial upgrading and empowering talent cultivation. In recent years, through its core sectors such as KUKA Robotics and Meiyun Zhishu, Midea has collaborated with over a hundred institutions both domestically and internationally, including Shenyang Institute of Technology, to establish a new model of industry-education integration characterized by "joint research on technology, joint cultivation of talent, and co-construction of ecosystems." In response to the needs of Chinese enterprises going global, Midea Group hopes to work with Shenyang Institute of Technology to create a clear path for deep integration of the "education chain-industry chain-innovation chain," planning to jointly build R&D bases in key regions of Southeast Asia, conduct technological breakthroughs and project incubation, explore models such as "overseas order classes," develop bilingual teaching resources in Chinese and English, and cultivate international talents proficient in intelligent equipment operation and cross-cultural communication. This initiative aims to set benchmarks in areas like smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and international talent cultivation, achieving precise alignment between talent development and industrial needs, and injecting new momentum into deepening industry-education integration and serving the global economic development of the region.
Wang Zhaobao briefly introduced the fruitful achievements of Midea and Shenyang Institute of Technology in the construction of modern industrial colleges, integration of industry and education, and joint training of high-quality applied talents. He reviewed the cooperation journey between both parties in recent years and expressed earnest hopes for further collaboration in the future. Wang stated that Shenyang Institute of Technology began its cooperation with KUKA in 2019, and in 2024, established the KUKA Academy in collaboration with KUKA China, signing an agreement to jointly train students. This innovation in the model of school-enterprise cooperation aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents who can adapt to technological trends and meet the requirements of industrial transformation and upgrading. He hopes that in the future, both parties will leverage the KUKA Academy and the Shenyang Institute of Technology-Midea Digital Lighthouse Academy to integrate the strengths of Shenyang Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, and industrial internet, as well as Midea Group's resources and technical advantages in robotics automation, industrial software, and smart factories. Together, they will develop cutting-edge course modules, create seamless teaching scenarios linking "classroom-laboratory-factory," build a joint innovation platform for talent cultivation, continuously strengthen the model of cultivating high-quality applied and composite talents, promote deeper integration of industry and education, and provide strong talent and technological support for regional industrial upgrading and global layout.
Before the symposium, Wang Zhaobao and his team visited the KUKA exhibition hall, Blue Orange Lab, and KUKA Academy to gain a firsthand understanding of Midea Group's current development status and future plans. Vice President Yang Xiuying, Director Liu Yang of the Party and Government Office, Director Zhao Mingyu of the Personnel Department, Dean Wu Qiong of the School of Economics and Management, and Dean Zhang Lili of the International Education College participated in the exchange and inspection.
