On July 17th, Chairman Wang Zhaobao, Assistant Chairman Wang Qinuo, President Li Kangju, and Vice President Xu Ying met with visiting members of the University of Huddersfield in the UK, including Academician Bob Klein, President and Honorary Chairman of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Chen Jia, Chief Representative of the University of Huddersfield China Representative Office, and Bai Pu, Chief Advisor of the University of Huddersfield China Representative Office and Supervisor of the Shanghai Yanbaohang Foundation. On the basis of existing cooperation, the two schools will carry out in-depth cooperation in various aspects such as scientific research cooperation, teacher-student exchanges, and short-term visits.
Wang Zhaobao warmly welcomes the arrival of Academician Bob Klein and his delegation on behalf of the school. He stated that the school has always been committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents with an international perspective, strengthening international exchanges and cooperation with universities from multiple countries, and continuously improving the level of education and teaching as well as the quality of talent cultivation.He hopes that the two schools can fully leverage their respective advantages and carry out in-depth cooperation in teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and other aspects. At the meeting, both sides had in-depth exchanges on scientific research projects, student exchanges, teacher training, practical teaching bases, and reached consensus. Zhao Yuan, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, and Liu Yefeng, Director of the Science and Technology Department, attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, Academician Bob Klein and his delegation visited i5 Intelligent Manufacturing Practice Teaching Center, Inspur Industrial Internet College Joint Innovation Center, Huazhong Numerical Control Industry College, Rockwell Automation College, Kuka College and Practice Teaching Center of Preschool Education College, and spoke highly of our teaching achievements and teaching facilities.
Our school has been cooperating with the University of Huddersfield in the UK since 2016 and has achieved fruitful results. At present, a total of 9 students from the school have successfully participated in the "2+2" and "3+1" undergraduate dual degree joint training programs of the two universities and obtained degrees from both parties. Both sides also held various activities such as the "ISEC Huddersfield Miren Christmas Eve" knowledge competition and winter camp, further deepening the friendship between the two schools.
