On March 19th, the signing ceremony of the international communication framework cooperation agreement between China Daily and Shenyang Institute of Technology, as well as the unveiling ceremony of the China Daily-Shenyang Institute of Technology New Media Talent Training Practice Base, were held at Shenyang Institute of Technology. Wu Yong, the director of the Liaoning Reporters’ Station of China Daily, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Wang Zhaobao, the chairman of Shenyang Institute of Technology, met with Wu Yong and his delegation and attended the unveiling ceremony. Hu Xiaomei, the secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a speech at the signing ceremony and unveiled the base together with Wu Yong. Li Kangju, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the university, signed the cooperation agreement with Wu Yong. Gong Peiguo, the executive vice president, presided over the event.
Hu Xiaomei expressed her heartfelt gratitude to China Daily for its long-term support and assistance to the university. She said, “China Daily is a major central media outlet, serving as an important window for the world to understand China and for China to connect with the world. It is the preferred English-language media for high-level individuals both domestically and internationally, and is also one of the most frequently reprinted sources of Chinese information by overseas media.” The establishment of the first “New Media Talent Training Practice Base” jointly built by China Daily and Liaoning universities at Shenyang Institute of Technology fully demonstrates China Daily’s high recognition of the educational level of Shenyang Institute of Technology and its confidence in the quality of talent cultivation. The school has always adhered to the internationalization of its educational policy, deeply integrated into the joint construction of “Belt and Road”, and established friendly cooperative relationships with 40 universities in 15 countries. We look forward to working closely with China Daily’s Liaoning Reporters’ Station to provide talent support and intellectual support for building a hub of open cooperation in Northeast Asia.
Wu Yong, the director of China Daily’s Liaoning Reporters’ Station, said that as the country’s national English-language daily and a major force in international communication, China Daily has thoroughly studied and implemented the important statements made by General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding international communication work, as well as the spirit of his congratulatory letter to China Daily on its 40th anniversary. We are committed to improving our omnimedia communication structure and strengthening the specialized talent team that meets the needs of international communication in the new era, further enhancing our international influence. Both parties will focus on exploring cooperation in various areas such as the promotion of international communication content, the joint construction of external communication platforms, and the cultivation of international communication talents. He hopes that both parties can leverage their respective advantages to deepen exchanges in various fields, use the English-language party newspaper to promote ideological and political education on campus, jointly build converged media communication platforms, accelerate the cultivation of international communication talents, promote cooperation in think tanks, organize various international activities, and launch more and better international communication models and innovative content.
According to the agreement, both parties will further leverage their respective strengths to deepen cooperation in areas such as brand international communication, converged media platform construction, compound talent cultivation, think tank development, the establishment of international communication platforms targeting young students, and international exchanges. They will strive to excel in international communication work together.
Before the unveiling ceremony, Wang Zhaobao and other officials accompanied Wu Yong to visit the Film and Television Practice Center of the School of Art and Media at Shenyang Institute of Technology. They introduced the achievements made by the School of Art in recent years in teaching, research, and talent cultivation in the field of new media.
Zhang Tongtong, Tong Qingxin, and Yang Yutong from China Daily’s Liaoning Reporters’ Station, as well as relevant responsible colleagues from the Party Committee Propaganda Department, School of Art and Media, and International Education College (International Exchange Center) of Shenyang Institute of Technology, and 10 exchange students from Irkutsk State University in Russia and other universities attended the signing ceremony.
