On July 2, the Second Student Congress of Shenyang Institute of Technology was held in the library auditorium. Vice Minister of the Fushun Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Fushun City Association Secretariat representative Zhang Jin was invited to attend the meeting, School Party Secretary Chen Gang, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice-principal Li Wenguo, School Youth League Secretary Zhou Yongchang, Deputy Youth League Secretary Teng Yuwei, and 295 official representatives from the second-level colleges in charge of student work leadership attended the meeting. The two levels of Student representatives from the school group organization attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Boyan, a member of the Bureau of the General Assembly.

At 9:30, the opening ceremony began with a solemn national anthem. Zhang Jin, on behalf of Fushun City Association of Students, congratulated the general meeting. She fully affirmed the work of our university student organizations in ideological and political leadership, campus cultural construction, social practice and voluntary service, and put forward three opinions to student leaders: first, to bear the responsibility of the times, to improve the overall contribution; second is to practice the purpose of service and improve the satisfaction of students, and third is to continue to deepen reform and enhance social recognition.

Chen Gang pointed out in his speech that the student congress is the basic form for all students to exercise their democratic rights and participate in the democratic management of the university, and is an important channel to broaden the contact between schools and students. Chen Gang, while fully affirming the achievements of student organizations, put forward four hopes to students’ organizations and young students  at all levels of the school: first, to firmly believe in ideals and beliefs, to become ambitious people; second, to develop strong skills to become knowledgeable people; third, to cultivate a noble character to become people willing to contribute; fourth, to brave to innovate and create to become people who promotes the development of the times. Chen Gang stressed that the vast number of young students should not forget the initial heart, keep in mind the mission, high ambition, and temper the will. They should contribute their youthful strength in the new journey with the spirit of hard work, high morale, pragmatic style and practical action.

At the meeting, Li Zhiyuan, a member of the Bureau of the Student Union of the University, gave a working report entitled “Don't forget to follow the Party’s initial heart and lead the vast number of young students to contribute youth and strength to the construction of the best applied technology university”.

At 2 p.m., the second plenary meeting of the Second Student Congress of Shenyang Institute of Technology was held in the library. The meeting deliberated and adopted the Resolution on the “Adoption of the Report on the Work of the First Student Committee of Shenyang Institute of Technology”, the “Constitution of the Student Union of Shenyang Institute of Technology”, the “Measures for the Election of the Second Student Council of Shenyang Institute of Technology”, the “List of Voters for the Election of directors of the Second Student Council”, the “List of Supervisors and the List of Candidates for the Second Session of the Committee”. The second student committee of Shenyang Institute of Technology was elected.

At the closing ceremony, Zhou Yongchang delivered a closing speech in which he hoped that students would bear in mind general secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions at the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, keep in mind his initial mission, firmly believe in ideals, constantly strengthen the “Four consciousnesses”, enhance the “Four Self-confidences”,  adhere to the “Chinese Dream” to solid ideological foundation, practice, and constantly explore, to open up a new situation for the work of our student union.

On July 3, the first plenary meeting of the 2nd Student Committee of Shenyang Institute of Technology was held, which elected 5 members of the 2nd Student Committee of Shenyang Institute of Technology and elected the representative of the Bureau, Cheng Yuhe, to make a speech.

2021 is the opening year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, is the 100th anniversary of the founding of our great Communist Party of China, standing at the historical meeting point to achieve the goal of “Two Hundred Years”, Shenyang Institute of Technology student organizations will be under the leadership of the school party committee and the higher school league committee, under the guidance of the school league committee, to convene this conference as a new starting point, leading the whole school young students to actively innovate, cooperate, and write a new chapter.
